‘The Bold and the Beautiful’: Fans Are Tired of Recycled Storylines
Since 1987 The Bold and the Beautiful has been entertaining viewers with its dramatic storylines. For 34 years, fans have watched the romantic and chaotic interactions of the Forresters and the Logans. While the soap opera is popular worldwide, it’s lost their appeal over time. One of the biggest criticisms the show has faced is its recycled storylines.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ fans believe the show repeats storylines
With over three decades on the air, The Bold and the Beautiful sometimes struggles with creativity and repeats old storylines. Whether it’s a love triangle or another breakup for a super-couple, writers can’t resist rehashing these plots. The constant reliance on past storylines is becoming predictable and a huge turnoff for fans.
On Twitter, viewers expressed their dislike for the repeated stories, including a current one involving Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). “We’re all tired of this recycled storyline. Time to clean up this mess & move along” wrote one fan. “So sick of this storyline. First, it was Ridge last year, and now it’s Brooke. Never changes. How many times do you expect people to put up with these stupid storylines?” another commenter replied.
Another breakup for Brooke Logan and Ridge Forrester
Brooke and Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) on-again, off-again relationship is a recycled storyline on The Bold and the Beautiful. The super-couple has gone through many breakups in the past 34 years, and they may be headed for another split. Brooke’s kiss with her former lover, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), threatens to destroy her marriage.
As fans have seen the past three weeks, Brooke’s been racked with guilt but fears telling the truth. Fans know this storyline will play out the same way it always does. Brooke will continue lying to she’s forced to confess when he discovers her secret. Ridge will then walk out, leaving Brooke in tears.
More love triangles on the horizon
Love triangles are The Bold and the Beautiful‘s top storylines. Although fans love an occasional love triangle, they hate it when the story wears out its welcome. Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline) fighting over Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is one story that got tiring with its constant repeats. The writers seem to have put a stop to that storyline, at least for now.
But another of the show’s famous love triangles could be coming back. With Ridge a single man again, he’ll be rushing into the arms of his ex-wife Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen). However, Ridge and Taylor’s reunion will be hindered by Brooke, who’s not giving up on her marriage.
Although Brooke, Ridge, and Taylor was a huge storyline in the 90s, fans aren’t sure if they’re up for another round in the saga.
