‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Odds and Ends: Don Diamont, Rena Sofer, and a Fantasy Football Ad
The Bold and the Beautiful burns up CBS every day with tales of drama about the Forrester family of Los Angeles. But, in real life, the actors lead very sedate and wonderful lives. In this week’s news roundup, we feature Don Diamont & his failed attempts at real estate, Rena Sofer’s birthday wish, and an NFL star who got a soap boost.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ veteran Don Diamont tries his hand at real estate
The Bold and the Beautiful star Don Diamont has been playing the messy Bill Spencer, Jr., for years. But while Bill Spencer, Jr., has been involved in many a messy relationship over the years, Diamont’s real life is a lot more sedate — and funny. He’s been married to real estate agent Cindy Ambuehl since 2012, and they share twin boys. (Diamont also has four sons from his first marriage.)
And according to Soaps @ SheKnows, Diamont recently tried his hand at his wife’s gig — and it didn’t go as well as he’d have hoped. “When you press PLAY on the video, you see the actor delightedly watching Martha Stewart on TV with his dog, Ezey. “She’s showing how to set the table for an end-of-summer clambake!” he tells Ambuehl. The missus wants him to put up some signs, but he’s thoroughly engrossed by the show. “Oh,” he exclaims, “I love those placemats!” Finally, Ambuehl has had enough. She calls out her better half for having begun to take his job as The Sign B***h lightly. “You’ve lost your competitive edge,” they reported.
Fortunately, The Bold and the Beautiful vet seems to have a good sense of humor about it all. You can check out the hilarious video below.
Rena Sofer sends her husband a sweet birthday wish
Meanwhile, Rena Sofer — whose character of Quinn has been at the heart of a messy love triangle between Eric and Carter — also leads a very sedate life when the cameras stop rolling.
Recently, her longtime husband — film director Sanford Bookstaver — celebrated a birthday, and The Bold and the Beautiful star took some time to share a sweet message about it on her Instagram page.
“I am so thankful that I have found the calm in my storm, my rock, my partner, and my best friend. In this world we live in today the greatest gift is to find your people,” she wrote. “And I have found mine in @sbookstaver !!! You are a gifted artist, a devoted and loving father, and an amazing partner and friend. Sandy, I am so excited to be by your side not just in life but TODAY!!! Happy Birthday my love!”
A football star gets a soap boost
Finally, The Bold and the Beautiful recently had yet another amazing advertising crossover, starring none other than Scott Clifton (Liam) and Annika Noelle (Hope). Check it out below.
Similar to Don Diamont’s promo of House Calls with Dr. Phil, Clifton and Noelle were starring in an advertisement for CBS’s Fantasy Football. The player they referenced, however, was Buffalo Bills’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Diggs was referenced in the commercial because he’s considered a popular choice in many people’s fantasy football leagues.
Diggs, however, got a very nice “brand boost,” according to Syracuse.com. “If Diggs, Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills offense performs like they did one year ago, the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful may have more shorts to film next year as well,” they wrote.
