It’s been 20 years since their controversial affair, and it’s still a hot-button topic with fans. While fans get worked up over the storyline, Kanan jokes about it. In a recent Twitter video, the actor was asked about his character’s craziest moment from the show.
Kanan replies that Deacon having a baby with his mother-in-law is his craziest moment. The actor is serious in his response before joking, “But in my defense, I mean, have you seen her? So you can’t really blame me completely.”
Deacon Sharpe and Brooke Logan’s affair led to heartache
In 2001, The Bold and the Beautiful shocked viewers with Deacon and Brooke’s affair. Deacon comforted a lonely Brooke who was distraught over losing Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). One thing led to another, and before the night was over, Deacon slept with his mother-in-law.
Although what they did was wrong, Deacon and Brooke continued sneaking around. Their trysts lead to Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) conception. Despite their efforts to keep their affair a secret, Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) caught them. An angry Stephanie berated the two and forced Brooke to marry Whip Jones (Rick Hearst).
Yet, Bridget eventually learned of the affair after eavesdropping on a conversation via the baby monitor. She later confronted Brooke, who went into labor during their argument. Bridget and Stephanie helped Brooke deliver Hope. Later, Bridget arrived home and told Deacon she knew about him and Brooke. She ended their marriage, then later set fire to his belongings.
Is the couple headed for a reunion?
When Deacon returned in October 2021, fans suspected he and Brooke would rekindle their affair. Although Deacon claimed he was home to reconnect with Hope, Ridge suspected he was after another Logan woman. Despite Ridge’s warning, Brooke allowed Deacon to come to the house to visit Hope.
However, the situation with Deacon took a dramatic turn on New Year’s Eve. With Ridge out of town, Brooke invited Deacon over. The two drank and reminisced about their relationship before kissing. Brooke awoke in bed with Deacon the next day, who promised nothing else happened.
Brooke tried to keep her night with Deacon quiet but was busted by Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). An angry Ridge walks out on Brooke and is ready to move on. With Ridge gone, Deacon’s using the opportunity to reclaim the woman he loves.
