‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Star Denise Richards Says Her Relationship With Her Daughter is ‘Strained’

The Bold and the Beautiful is chock full of drama — and a lot of that drama is between parents and children. (Dollar Bill alone is a whole psychoanalysis situation.) But Denise Richards, who plays Shauna on the show, has some real-life drama between herself and her children. And, recently, she opened up about it on a radio show.

Richards admitted her relationship with her daughter is ‘strained’

On Feb. 11, Richards stopped by Jeff Lewis Live, a show on SiriusXM, to talk about her life and what was going on with it. Richards briefly talked about why she left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and needless to say, things are messy over there.

But The Bold and the Beautiful star was really on the show to talk about her relationship with her daughter.

“Honestly, I have a strained relationship with her,” she said on the show, per People. “It’s very difficult. I know we’ll get back to where we were eventually but right now, it is strained. Obviously, I would love for her to live with me. She lived with me all these years. But I think it’s very difficult raising teenagers now and especially in Los Angeles when there’s access to everything. We didn’t grow up with Postmates and Uber where you have everything that you want. There are certain rules and I enforce them. And [at Sheen’s], there’s different rules at that house and that’s okay.”

Hollywood bad boy Charlie Sheen was once married to The Bold and the Beautiful star. They were first married in 2002, but divorced in 2005. At the time of their divorce, Richards was pregnant with the couple’s second child, a daughter named Lola.

After Richards divorced Sheen, she adopted a child she named Eloise, who is now 10 years old. Richards’ current husband, Aaron Phypers, is currently in the process of adopting Eloise.

But the issue Richards is facing is with her eldest daughter, Sami. Sami is currently living with her father, and needless to say, she has a very different story than the one her mother is currently telling.

Her daughter, Sami, moved out — and called her mother ‘abusive’

According to The New York Post, 17-year-old Sami made a viral TikTok video (which she has since made private) with some pretty damning accusations against The Bold and the Beautiful star. Sami claimed she was “trapped” in an abusive household when she was living with her mother. She also said that she went “days” without eating or sleeping, and that she hated herself.

Sami also admitted that she dropped out of high school after she moved in with her father. And while Richards said she didn’t agree with the decision, she was powerless to stop Sami from making her own decisions.

The Bold and the Beautiful star said she’s not a “strict” mom, but she does have “rules and boundaries.”
