If there’s one thing The Bold and the Beautiful is going to do, it’s bring back some classic rivalries. In the 1980s, the Brooke-Ridge-Taylor rivalry was one of the best rivalries on daytime television. And, to this day, the rivalry remains in the soap annals as being one of the best rivalries in soap history. And, though Taylor looks a little different now — now that Hunter Tylo is out, and Krista Allen is in — the rivalry still has all the same flavor it had all those years ago.

On ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ Brooke was rattled by Taylor’s presence

After spending several years away in Africa, Dr. Taylor Hayes is back in Los Angeles. And on this week’s The Bold and the Beautiful, she made it clear that she wasn’t going to stand for the nonsense.

According to Soaps.com, Brooke and Taylor will come face-to-face for the first time in several years on Tuesday, December 21. One would hope that the ladies have now gotten old enough that they don’t need to devolve into petty catfights and hair-pulling. But, as Days of Our Lives recently proved, sometimes the old cats have the most life in them. And the scene just might be set for Brooke and Taylor to re-ignite their old rivalry.

That is, of course, if Brooke doesn’t get a new man altogether first. Hello, Deacon!

Thomas and Steffy were happy to see their mom, though

While Brooke acted like she’d seen a ghost, Thomas and Steffy were all too pleased to see their long-lost mama. And, as Celeb Dirty Laundry explained, Thomas was especially thrilled to see his mother, especially since he’s been through it these past few years.

“Thomas wanted to regain his balance and make some healthy changes in his life, but Taylor and Steffy suggested he’d already put the work in,” reported the outlet. “Ridge felt like Taylor pulled the family together when they were in trouble. He commented on how they were in a good place and thought a lot of that was because of Taylor.”

Well, that certainly seems lovely.

Meanwhile, Sheila Carter just had a monkey wrench thrown in her plans

Kimberlin Brown is playing Sheila Carter in all her cartoon villain glory. And that’s come in handy now that Taylor’s back in town. As The Bold and the Beautiful fans know, Sheila’s rivalry with Taylor is next-level in its obsession. Unfortunately, Taylor’s return means that Sheila’s devious plans to get her son and grandbaby back in her life just got the biggest monkey wrench.

And now, her latest ally in Deacon is starting to crumble, too. Sure, he’s troubled. But he’s not evil. And he certainly wouldn’t want his baby girl to suffer, as the December 17 episode of the show proved. “Deacon acted very sorry for causing so much drama and Hope fell for his act hook, line, and sinker,” reported SoapHub. “She accompanied her father into the living room to console a very shattered Brooke. There were tears and a whole lot of apologies. Brooke cried herself to her bedroom leaving Hope to wonder how to make this all better…while keeping Deacon around, of course.”

It sounds like these next few weeks of The Bold and the Beautiful will be dramatic ones, for sure.
