‘The Challenge’: 1 Finalist Confirms They Won’t Appear in Season 38 With Message From Apparent Producer
The Challenge finalist Theo Campbell performed well in his first two seasons before being sidelined with an injured eye. Regardless, the alum wants to return, even offering to compete without pay. He recently confirmed that he seemingly had a spot in The Challenge 38 cast before something fell through in a message from an assumed producer.
‘The Challenge’ finalist confirms he won’t appear in season 38 with a message from assumed producer
In August 2019, after competing on his second consecutive season, The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2, UK native Theo Campbell revealed he split his eye in half due to a champagne cork that popped into his face.
He has undergone a few surgeries but hasn’t regained full vision yet. Even so, Theo insists he’s ready to return for another season. When the network began casting for season 38, the Love Island star reportedly had a spot until it fell through.
He provided proof with a text message from an assumed producer who informed Theo that he wouldn’t have a position in the cast anymore following a meeting. “I am so sorry, I was your number one advocate, and we had it for a minute, but things changed,” the person claimed.
The UK track star noted he was “very close” to making his return and thanked those who wanted to see him compete again. However, Theo claimed that he’ll give it a final shot for season 39, but after that, “I ain’t available no more.” He also added, “my eye will be fully healed, so no excuses by then.”
Theo Campbell holds a Challenge record
As a rookie, Theo teamed up with two-time winner Cara Maria Sorbello, and they formed a dominant duo, winning four daily missions in War of the Worlds (2019).
He went on to win another solo before eliminating Cara’s ex-fling and rival Kyle Christie. The UK track star finished the season in second place, earning $200,000.
His prize winnings set the record for the most money won by a male without placing first. Theo immediately returned for War of the Worlds 2 but had a much different experience as Team UK had difficulty winning challenges.
As one of their strongest players, he found himself in four eliminations, sending three players home before eventually losing to Jordan Wiseley shortly before the finals. During the airing of the season, Theo injured his eye, and he hasn’t returned yet.
Theo previously offered to compete on ‘The Challenge’ for free
In a November 2021 tweet, Theo claimed he competed in War of the Worlds following a year of “partying, drinking, and no training.” However, he pointed out he still made it to the finals.
Following the eye injury, the UK reality star claims he hasn’t received an invitation to return because others know he’s “better than ever.” In another tweet, Theo stated he would compete for free.
“Don’t worry about paying me the weekly money,” he wrote while tagging the official account. “I’m only there for the prize money anyway.” Veteran Amanda Garcia, who recently made her return to the franchise, apparently saw his tweets. She posted her opinion that those who would volunteer for the show are “desperate to the max.”
When Theo responded to her, claiming that he won more money during his rookie season than her during her several seasons, Amanda didn’t reply. Instead, she claimed she preferred not to reveal her true thoughts about him because she didn’t want their internet beef to reward him with a position on the cast.
