‘The Challenge’ Star Ashley Mitchell on Why She Regrets Returning for ‘Dirty 30’
The Challenge star Ashley Mitchell has competed in eight seasons, two of which she won. Mitchell recently returned for season 36’s Double Agents, where she went home first. Following the Jan. 6 episode, she revealed why she regrets returning for Dirty 30 three years ago.
Ashley Mitchell has won two seasons of ‘The Challenge.’
Then 24-year-old Ashley Mitchell initially debuted on The Real World: Ex-Plosion (2014), where she left after the second episode following drunken outbursts.
Following her appearance, she competed on the 28th season of The Challenge: Rivals III (2016) alongside former housemate and nemesis Cory Wharton. However, the two failed to make the finals.
Mitchell returned for Invasion of the Champions (2017) as part of Team Underdogs, where she won, earning $121,250. After leaving at the beginning of Dirty 30 (2017), she came back for Final Reckoning (2018) and won alongside partner Hunter Barfield.
However, The Real World star opted to keep the prize money in full instead of splitting it, and she went home with $1 million, making her the highest-earning cast member at the time. The California native has returned for seven more seasons, including three spinoffs but only finished in the finals once more.

After becoming the second female eliminated during Total Madness, the two-time champ tried again in Double Agents. Although she thought teaming up with CT Tamburello would serve her well because of their shared connections and experience running a final together, it ended up backfiring on her.
Before Tamburello and Mitchell paired up, Kam Williams approached him about working together. However, he declined because he didn’t know how she would perform.
Therefore, Williams sought revenge by turning the house against Tamburello and Mitchell and voting them into elimination. They sent the pair in alongside Wes Bergmann and rookie Natalie Anderson, hoping the former would eliminate Tamburello.
However, it was a female elimination, and Anderson, a former Survivor champ, sent Mitchell home.

Following her elimination, Mitchell has continued live-tweeting and sharing her thoughts during the episodes. For example, she noted she disagreed with Fessy Shafaat’s controversial move to volunteer himself to compete against his ally and friend Nelson Thomas in the classic Hall Brawl.
After the Jan. 6 episode, she answered questions on Instagram and replied to a fan who asked which season she wishes she didn’t appear. Mitchell explained she regretted returning for Dirty 30 because she wasn’t “mentally prepared” after competing in three consecutive seasons.
The two-time champ had admitted this before as some fans came for her on Twitter last season when she called out Bergmann for not wanting to compete. One follower responded and noted Mitchell quit for losing her luggage, which is the reason the show gave for her departure.
She replied and explained she left due to being “overwhelmed” after filming consecutive seasons and undergoing a “major surgery.” The Challenge 36 airs Wednesdays at 8/7 Central on MTV.
