‘The Challenge’: Cara Maria Sorbello Alluded Paulie Calafiore Will Be Back on the Show
The Challenge: Total Madness has come to an end, and now, fans are wondering what season 36 has in store. We saw plenty of Challenge greats compete on season 35. But the season was missing a few notable players like Cara Maria Sorbello and Paulie Calafiore.
The power couple dominated in War of the Worlds 2. And while Calafiore said it wasn’t his decision to not compete on Total Madness, it seems he’s gearing up to compete once more. Here’s what Sorbello said on the Challenge Mania podcast that alluded Calafiore will be back.
Paulie Calafiore wasn’t on ‘The Challenge: Total Madness’
Sorbello and Calafiore have made a name for themselves on The Challenge. Whether fans and fellow competitors love or hate the couple, there’s no doubt they have great physical and social gameplay. And everyone was wondering why Calafiore wasn’t on Total Madness given his better-than-average performance on War of the Worlds 2.
As for why he didn’t compete on Total Madness, we still don’t know. He told an Instagram follower that it “wasn’t my call,” and that “time will tell.” But ex-competitor Jemmye Carroll claimed Calafiore got the boot due to his troubling behavior.
“So then he was dropped due to his unstable behavior the past few weeks? Right or wrong?” Carroll tweeted at fellow ex-competitor Natalie Negrotti. “Which essentially means if he took a test in this state he wouldn’t pass. He was dropped due to his behavior not bc he wanted to stay home.”
Calafiore verified that it wasn’t because he failed a psych evaluation
It looks like Calafiore is ready to set the record straight regarding why he wasn’t on Total Madness. After Carroll noted that Calafiore wasn’t allowed back on the show after failing a psych evaluation, Calafiore took to Instagram to explain that that’s not the case.
“People were asking me why I wasn’t on it … I can’t really disclose that information. The only thing I can say is, it was not because of a failed psych evaluation,” Calafiore explained. “So, that lie, that rumor, that narrative that everybody keeps putting out there, it’s false. It’s fake. I’ve never failed a psych evaluation. I never will fail a psych evaluation.”
Calafiore tweeted about the situation as well. “Only Cara and I know why I was taken off last minute,” he added. “Any castmates trying to push this are pathetic and trying to push a narrative to cover their own actions.”
Cara Maria Sorbello alluded Calafiore will be back on the show
So, will Calafiore come back to the show after all is said and done? It seems there’s a strong possibility he will. Sorbello spoke with the Challenge Mania podcast about it.
“Everything that has happened, he’s only become stronger for it, and I’m really proud of everything he’s accomplishing,” Sorbello noted. “And I think when you do — if you do — see him again in the Challenge world, I think a lot of people will be surprised to find themselves rooting for him again. I think he’s gonna come back a brand new, stronger man and a lot better for this time off.”
This seemed to indicate that Calafiore will be back sooner rather than later. Perhaps we can expect him on season 36 which was recently given the green light. As for Sorbello, she said she loved having time off as well, and she might be prepared to get back in the saddle.
