‘The Challenge’: Cara Maria Sorbello Just Posted About ‘Red Flags’ on Her Instagram Story
MTV’s The Challenge has been on TV for over two decades, and we’ve watched contestants lie, cheat, and steal their way to the end. While new players attempt to go for the big bucks with each passing season, there are plenty of returning players viewers know and love. And Cara Maria Sorbello has attained quite the following.
Sorbello started on The Challenge with Fresh Meat 2, and she was immediately pegged as the odd one out of the group. She’s gained respect after winning multiple seasons of the show, though. And she and her boyfriend, Paulie Calafiore, dominated throughout War of the Worlds 2 until their disastrous end.
Now, fans are wondering what’s up with Sorbello’s Instagram posts. And they’re also curious if something happened between her and Calafiore, as she just mentioned “red flags.”
Cara Maria Sorbello added multiple cryptic posts to her Instagram
Those who follow Sorbello on Instagram typically know what they’re in for. As an Instagram influencer, she mentions her time on The Challenge, her new clothing line, and various products she endorses for her sponsors. Not only that, but she also posts a healthy number of selfies and photos with Calafiore. But since the beginning of 2020, Calafiore has been nowhere in sight — and her posts have gotten more obscure.
On Jan. 7, Sorbello posted an abstract image of a raven with no context. Then, on Jan. 8, she added an image of a reset button with the simple caption, “Reset button.” This image was then followed by another abstract image of a bird with a sword underneath.
Fans aren’t sure why she’s posting the images, but they’re showing their concern. One follower commented, “I don’t know what happened, but I just wanna say that you are amazing and strong! Hope you are good. Sending only good vibes.”
Sorbello mentioned ‘red flags’ on her Instagram Story
While Sorbello’s content she posts to her Instagram page appears to highly curated, her Instagram Stories are much more spontaneous. Fans will often see her post time with friends, family, her horses, or Calafiore. But on her Story posted on Jan 8., she added this quote: “My spirit animal is a bull because I, too, charge headfirst into red flags.”
There wasn’t another context given about the “red flags,” but fans have recently suspected something’s up with Calafiore and Sorbello. Sorbello’s 2019 recap on Instagram didn’t include any mention of Calafiore. And in the comments of an Instagram post she added at the end of 2019, she mentioned to a follower, “We used to put a lot of sweet cute things out there. I miss that too.”
Paulie Calafiore hasn’t mentioned Sorbello in quite some time
Sorbello’s last post containing any mention of Calafiore was from November 2019. As for Calafiore, he also hasn’t mentioned his relationship at all since November.
His recent social media content has solely been about his workouts, his major Challenge defeat, and some of his 2020 goals. And he’s even gone on various podcasts to talk about The Challenge and his future plans — but he hasn’t made any recent mention of Sorbello.
We’re not sure what their status is — and considering how candid they both have been in the past regarding their relationship, perhaps they’re just choosing to keep their private lives more private with the New Year. We did notice that Sorbello “liked” Calafiore’s post about The Challenge that he added in mid-December, so we’re hoping this is a sign that everything’s really fine between them. But Sorbello’s cryptic posts are quite unlike her, so we’ll have to wait and see if she gives any further explanation!
