‘The Challenge’: Cara Maria Sorbello Told Followers She Doesn’t Hate Anyone Anymore
Those who’ve been watching MTV’s The Challenge know Cara Maria Sorbello is a force to be reckoned with. The fierce competitor is known for being an intense physical threat, and she has quite a few wins under her belt to prove just how good she is at the game. But her years of participating in The Challenge has also led to countless feuds. And Sorbello hasn’t been quiet regarding who she can’t stand on the show.
Now, it looks like Sorbello is leaving the hate behind her. She told her Instagram followers that she’s turning a new leaf and doesn’t have any room in her heart for hate anymore. Here’s what she posted.
Cara Maria Sorbello has a number of long-standing feuds with ‘Challenge’ castmembers
It’s no secret that Sorbello doesn’t get along with a number of other Challenge players. While contestant Laurel Stucky and Sorbello had a close relationship for a number of seasons, fans saw them go at it on War of the Worlds 2. And Us Weekly reports Stucky told the cameras that their relationship went awry because of Sorbello’s behavior.
“I’ve known Cara for 10 years now. I specifically backed out of that relationship because she started being shady. She started acting two different ways,” Stucky said. “She was really into getting followers and getting fame which is not, like, one of my priorities. I don’t know who Cara Maria is. I don’t think Cara Maria knows who Cara Maria is.”
We also saw Jordan Wiseley talk badly about Sorbello on War of the Worlds 2. As he told HollywoodLife, “I trash talk and get in people’s heads, but I think Cara gets very personal and that just really rubs me the wrong way.”
Fans also saw Sorbello and Nany González go at it during the War of the Worlds 2 reunion. “I don’t like who she is today,” González told People. “I don’t think she’s a good person, and that’s outside of the game and in the game.”
She’s taking a break from ‘The Challenge’ for personal peace
It looks like all the negativity is getting to Sorbello. She and her boyfriend, Paulie Calafiore, were villainized on War of the Worlds 2, which led to her having even more feuds than ever before. Now, she’s taking a break from the show for some peace of mind.
“You can’t put a price tag on happiness. For so long, I was, like, you know the money is so good. I can’t say no. I needed a little break for my own sanity and my own happiness, just finding what makes me me again and get my light back,” Sorbello told the Watch With Us podcast in December 2019. She also stated that without her, the producers will be forced to “make someone else the bad guy this next season because I’m not going to be on it!”
Sorbello mentioned that her decision to step away has no bearing on what Calafiore chooses to do, too. We know Calafiore won’t be on the next season of The Challenge, but she’d happily root him on from the sidelines if he was.
Sorbello told Instagram followers she’s no longer holding on to hate
Now that Sorbello is taking some distance from The Challenge, she’s also letting go of some of her feuds. She posted a video of her beloved horse to her Instagram Story and added a caption about letting go of her hate.
“Any hate that I ever had in my heart towards anyone. Any resentment. All of that toxicity. Removed,” Sorbello wrote. “This time off is everything I needed. I only wish the best for everyone. And I mean everyone. It feels good to let go … and it gives more room in my head and heart for what I love.”
We know Sorbello is ultra-committed to her horse, her relationship with Calafiore, and her fitness routines she’s now sharing with her followers. And now that she’s found happiness and success outside of The Challenge, we’re not yet sure if we’ll see her again on the show. Only time will tell.
