‘The Challenge’: Cara Maria Sorbello’s Instagram Story Seems to Confirm Her Relationship Status With Paulie Calafiore
There are plenty of notable contestants we’ve seen compete on MTV’s The Challenge season after season. And one of the most notorious contestants is Cara Maria Sorbello.
Sorbello got her start on Fresh Meat 2 — and while she was eliminated early, she didn’t let her stop her from coming back and attempting to win the big money later on. Now, we know Sorbello as being one of the biggest female threats to ever play the game, as she’s a beast in eliminations and frequently finds herself running the finals.
Now, it’s Sorbello’s relationship with fellow contestant Paulie Calafiore that’s being called into question. The couple’s romance has appeared to cool off given what we’ve seen on Instagram, but Sorbello’s Instagram Story may have just confirmed they’re still together despite the rumors.

It seems there were sparks and butterflies when Sorbello and Calafiore first met on The Challenge: Final Reckoning. But their relationship had a rocky start. According to Us Weekly, Calafiore was still with his now-ex-girlfriend, Danielle Maltby, when he started seeing Sorbello. This breaking news ended both relationships for Calafiore — though we know now that he and Sorbello eventually reconciled.
Since then, they appeared to be the perfect match. They frequently featured their romance on Instagram, and they worked together during the most recent season of The Challenge, War of the Worlds 2, until they made it to the final. But since November 2019, some fans have wondered what’s really going on with the couple, as neither Calafiore or Sorbello has made any Instagram posts featuring the other.
Not only have both parties remained quiet about their relationship on Instagram, but Sorbello also told an Instagram follower that she misses the “sweet cute things” she and Calafiore used to put forth to social media.
They both appeared to travel to The Bahamas at the same time
There’s not a whole lot of evidence on social media to suggest Calafiore and Sorbello are still together. Sorbello’s Instagram post suggests she’s pressing reset on a few aspects of her life. And she also told her followers she might be moving away from Montana, which is where she resides with Calafiore.
Despite all this evidence, both Calafiore and Sorbello told their followers via their Instagram Stories that they were going on a trip. And after a few posts, it was clear they were headed to the same location.
On Jan. 21, Calafiore shared that he was going to The Bahamas, and he later showed himself heading through the Delta Sky Club lounge. Sorbello also posted photos of her hanging out in the lounge, leading their followers to believe they were together even though they didn’t feature one another in their Stories.

Now, it’s clear Sorbello and Calafiore are both in the same exact spot. We’re not sure if they intended on hiding the fact that they were together in The Bahamas, but Sorbello featured Calafiore on her Story video added on Jan. 24.
In the video, Sorbello is showing off her view from her room at the Cocodimama resort. And she then pans over to the variety of protein powders and supplements she brought with her. After that, she quickly shifts the camera over to Calafiore, who seems to have just finished up a workout.
It seems Calafiore still isn’t featuring Sorbello, though. But his Instagram appears to be very focused on his current workout regimen, so that could be why.
