‘The Challenge: CT and Diem’s 7 Best Moments

Fans of The Challenge will never forget the romance between Chris “CT” Tamburello and Diem Brown. The on-again, off-again couple originally crossed paths on MTV’s The Duel. They ended up sparking a romance that fans couldn’t get enough of.

Tragically, things came to an end in 2014 when Diem passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. CT was by her side up until the very end, and he posted a sweet tribute on social media when she died. The two shared some amazing moments over the years. Here are seven of the very best.

7. Diem turns into a ‘sexy supermodel secret agent’ on ‘The Challenge’

When Diem had to take her wig off for the first time after losing her hair due to chemotherapy, it was a big moment for her. Until that time, The Challenge star hadn’t let anyone see her without her hair – not even her dad. When she took the wig off, CT noticed that Diem had turned into “GI Jane.”

“At that moment, when she takes her wig off and turns into GI Jane, lookin’ like a little sexy supermodel secret agent,” CT said.

6. Diem’s three-week kissing rule

Both fans and CT patiently waited for his first kiss with Diem. He wanted to kiss her from the moment he first arrived, but she wanted the first kiss to be “cute” and “perfect.” Diem also had a “three-week rule” when it came to kissing.

“I will not kiss somebody unless I’ve at least known them for three weeks,” Diem declared. “CT thinks I’m a dork for my little rules, but I think it’s gonna get to him too.”

CT tried to plan the first kiss, which Diem objected to. But their discussion about when and where to have their first kiss had fans hooked. Eventually, the “perfect” first kiss happened on a cliff – with everyone watching from the house.

5. Diem shaves CT’s head on ‘The Challenge’

During season 15, CT decided that he wanted to make a change. The house was driving him crazy, so he decided to “get rid of this guy” and shave his head.

“I really don’t like the person I’m becoming in this house. And, ya know, I wanna turn over a new leaf. I wanna change this character up. I wanna grow,” CT explained.

Once the decision was made, Diem grabbed an electric shaver and went to work. “You promise to still love me?” Diem asked as she took off a chunk of CT’s hair. In the end, a mountain of hair ended up on the floor with CT’s head completely shaved.

4. Winning ‘Race to the Altar’ on ‘The Challenge: Battle of the Exes’

In The Challenge: Battle of the Exes, CT and Diem’s relationship was supposedly in the past. The two argued and fought when they bothered to talk to each other. But, as teammates they found success in the Race to the Altar challenge. The duo exchanged rings and shared a kiss at the end of the challenge, which Diem called “ironic.”

At the end of the season, CT and Diem didn’t win the $1 million prize. However, they were the runners-up and took home a cool $100K. CT said he was glad they got the chance to square things away and be on the same team again.

3. ‘You act like you’re in love with me’

CT and Diem reunited once again on The Challenge: Rivals II, and she admitted that seeing her ex again was like coming home. The couple had a moment when CT accused Diem of acting like she was in love with him, and that left her speechless.

Diem’s cancer had returned in the previous year, causing her to lose her hair again. When CT asked her to take her wig off, it was an emotional moment because he had hit her “weak spot.”

“If you take it off, I’ll kiss you,” CT promised.

When the wig came off, the two reconnected with a kiss. Diem later told the cameras that CT had always “been great” about giving her confidence. She admitted “that’s how he got me the first time.”

2. She’s more important than ‘The Challenge’

During Battle of the Exes II, Diem left to get treatment for a stomach ache. While she was gone, CT put together a care package and everyone in the house signed a card with sweet messages. But when she was expected to return to the house, CT and the rest of the contestants got some horrible news.

“Ya know, it’s crossed my mind that Diem may have more than a tummy ache,” CT told the cameras. “And if that’s the case, I’ll leave on the next flight with her, no questions asked.”

Diem’s medical situation prevented her from continuing in the game, and CT left with her.

1. C.T.’s tribute

After Diem passed away on November 14, 2014 from her long battle with ovarian cancer, CT took to Instagram to offer a special tribute to his longtime love. He posted a photo of a prayer card from Diem’s funeral, along with a rosary and a ring.

“You have always been My Angel. And now you have your wings. We’ve been thru so much over the years. Thru the ups and downs we somehow managed to keep our promise. We never gave up on each other. Our plan to be together forever hasn’t changed… it’s just going to take a little longer now.

And I’m going to hold onto this ring for you till we are together again. So don’t worry mama, I’m not afraid. I know you will always be with me to give me your strength. You are The Love of My Life. My reason to be a better man. I Love You Always and Forever.”
