‘The Challenge’ Fans Might Be Surprised By the Matchmaker Setting Up ‘RHONY’ Star Sonja Morgan
The Challenge has been on MTV for more than 25 years and has featured hundreds of contestants. So, it makes sense that some of the stars from the reality competition series pop up in other places.
That’s what happened recently when a two-time Challenge contestant showed up as Sonja Morgan’s matchmaker during a recent episode of Real Housewives of New York.
Devyn Simone made it to the finals during both of her seasons of ‘The Challenge’
Former Miss American Teen and Miss Missouri Teen Devyn Simone made her reality TV debut back in 2009 on The Real World: Brooklyn when she was just 20 years old. At the time, she was a student at the University of Southern Florida — studying theater and music — and she was an intern at Jovani.
Three years later, the self-described “girly girl” returned to MTV to compete on The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons. Devyn ended up placing third and taking home a $10,000 prize. She competed in her second season, Free Agents, in 2014.
During that season, she won four daily missions and made it to the finals again. Devyn placed third and won $15,000, and that was the last time Challenge fans saw her compete.
The former beauty queen achieved her goal of working in the entertainment industry
After her stint on MTV, Devyn appeared on a variety of talk shows as a guest. She also achieved her goal of working in the entertainment industry when she became the co-host and co-executive producer of the TLC dating series Love at First Swipe.
After two seasons of that series, Devyn became a New York-based matchmaker and dating coach while appearing on The Wendy Williams Show as an entertainment reporter. She also hosted the official aftershow for The Challenge: Double Agents.
‘The Challenge’ star just showed up on ‘The Real Housewives of New York’
Fans of The Challenge and The Real Housewives of New York had their TV worlds collide recently when Devyn showed up on the Bravo series as Sonja Morgan’s matchmaker. The divorced 57-year-old told Devyn that she had a long list of “must haves” for her potential partner.
“I’m just a Francophile. I’m not averse to French or Italian men. I married American but he loved to travel. But I should say we were loners. We like to spend a lot of time alone,” Sonja explained.
She added that the man she’s looking for is worldly and smart, and he’s someone who dedicates time to philanthropic causes like “animals, children, LGBT, and artists. The vulnerable.”
Eboni K. Williams also asked Devyn Simone to help her find love
Sonja wasn’t the only one looking to find a match. Her co-star Eboni K. Williams was the person who hooked Sonja up with Devyn. And she’s also looking for love after her broken engagement. Eboni told Page Six that she was looking for someone who is “extremely comfortable in his own skin.”
She also wants a man who is “really secure with his own identity and positioning in the world and in life.” Eboni is looking for a partner who understands that it’s important to make the world a better place.
‘The Challenge’ fans want to see Devyn Simone join the ‘Real Housewives of New York’ cast
After her guest appearance on RHONY, fans are calling for Devyn to join the cast of the Bravo series full-time. In a Reddit thread about Devyn’s surprise RHONY appearance, many fans of The Challenge said they missed seeing the former beauty queen.
“She does not age. She looked stunning on the episode,” one fan wrote. Another added, Right!? She looks the exact same!” While a third said, “Even better imo. She looks Challenge ready (being overly optimistic).”
The compliments kept coming, with one fan writing, “She looked so beautiful. I want her to join the cast. I think she’s smart, funny and would hold her own with the other ladies.”
One former RHONY fan added that they would watch the series again if Devyn joined the cast because she would “be great and such a breath of fresh air.”
