‘The Challenge’ stars Nany González and Kaycee Clark are nominated for Best Reality Romance
The MTV Movie & TV Awards have released nominations. The Challenge: Spies, Lies, and Allies made the list in three separate categories.
The reality star is nominated for Best Competition Series alongside American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and The Masked Singer.
Five-time champ CT Tamburello earned an independent nod for his winning performance in season 37’s Spies, Lies, and Allies. The MTV show received another nomination in the inaugural Best Reality Romance category.
Veteran Nany González and reigning champ Kaycee Clark are listed among Bachelor in Paradise’s Joe Amabile & Serena Pitt, After the 90 Days’ Loren & Alexei Brovarnik: Loren & Alexei, Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Sandoval & Ariana Madix, and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’s Yandy & Mendeecees.
Nany and Kaycee went public with their relationship in April 2021
During The Challenge 35: Total Madness, Nany and Kaycee flirted, but it didn’t go beyond that, as the latter had a girlfriend at the time.
Around March 2021, a little over a year later, Kaycee and her longtime girlfriend Tayler Jiminez unfollowed each other on social media and removed pictures with each other from their Instagram accounts.
A couple of months later, Tayler revealed they officially split in a series of tweets as she referred to the Big Brother champ as her ex. She also claimed Kaycee wrote her love letters while “shading” her to other cast members. Nany seemingly responded by posting a video of her and Kaycee in a bed together.
Tayler replied by uploading screenshots of messages with her ex, in which the reality star insisted she didn’t plan to date Nany. Shortly later, the couple went public with their relationship as season 37 premiered.
Kaycee and Nany are seemingly ready to raise a family together
In an August 2021 episode of The Challenge: Aftermath, the two spoke about their connection. Nany detailed the couple meeting during Total Madness and stayed in touch after the season.
The veteran acknowledged they both felt something deeper than friendship between them but couldn’t act on it as they were in relationships at the time. However, when they became single, they decided to attempt a romance.
Tayler disagreed with their origin story as she claims the pair didn’t begin their relationship “respectfully” and accused them of connecting before she and Kaycee broke up. Following Kaycee’s win, she and Kaycee traveled and eventually moved in together.
Nany sought advice from followers in a November 2021 Instagram post regarding IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatments. It’s implied she plans to have the child with Kaycee as she also uploaded a picture of the couple together, captioning it, “I’m so excited for our future together.” The two most recently attended Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols’ wedding, as Nany was a bridesmaid, and Kam Williams and Leroy Garrett’s baby shower together. The MTV Movie & TV Awards air on June 5 at 8 p.m. EST.
