‘The Challenge 35’: Kyle Christie Claims Production Allowed Two Winners So [Spoiler] Could Win
[SPOILER ALERT: Spoilers ahead about the rumored winners of The Challenge 35.]
In The Challenge 35, Kyle Christie played a relatively under the radar game and has seemingly made it to the finals for the first time since his rookie season. Even though viewers thought only one person would take home the massive million-dollar prize, apparently a male and female walked away with the title. The four-time British competitor claims production allowed two winners, so Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio could win his 20th season.
Kyle Christie on ‘The Challenge 35’
After placing third in Vendettas, England-native Kyle Christie missed the finals three times in a row. Throughout those four seasons, he built a reputation as a party boy who didn’t take the game seriously. Additionally, the British reality star has continually found himself on the wrong side of the numbers as he’s had difficulty playing both sides correctly.
Therefore, Kyle returned for Total Madness with a determination to prove himself as a formidable opponent. While he hasn’t won any challenges or made it into the Tribunal during the season, he stayed under the radar and avoided becoming the house vote.
However, the British competitor had to win an elimination round to qualify for the finals, so he attempted to garner the votes from the house in Episode 12. Cory Wharton also wanted to compete in the elimination, and he had more allies, so he got his way.
The house finally voted Kyle in for the following guys’ elimination as he and Tribunal member Josh Martinez were the only ones still needing a red skull.
Kyle Christie allegedly hooked up with Melissa Reeves
Shortly after the season, three-time competitor Melissa Reeves found out she was pregnant while filming The Challenge 35. After she announced her pregnancy, many fans thought Kyle fathered the baby because the couple allegedly hooked up during the season.
However, she maintains she conceived her child in the few weeks leading up to filming, meaning the Ex on the Beach UK 2 star was pregnant during the entire season. Melissa and Kyle both denied he fathered the child, but they did not dispute the rumors of their short-lived romance.
After remaining silent on her child’s father, sources revealed professional soccer player Danny Simpson fathered her daughter, Vienna.
Kyle Christie claims the season was rigged for Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio
After Episode 12 aired, Challenge insider Gamer Vev reported that Kyle revealed the production crew “rigged” the season so Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio could earn his seventh win.
According to the source, they had to “reshoot a segment” where Johnny wins, and the British reality star got annoyed because only one person was supposed to win the entire million-dollar prize.
However, Kyle claims a production assistant talked to Jenny West, who should have been the sole champion, and she didn’t mind having two winners. Many fans believe Kyle because the contestants only mentioned one person winning throughout the season.
Additionally, some theorize that production didn’t include Kyle and Melissa’s hookup to appease him, as he had a girlfriend back home, after getting angry with the final results. The Challenge 35 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on MTV.
