[Spoiler alert: The winners of The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2 are discussed.]

It’s hard to believe MTV’s The Challenge has graced the small screen for over two decades. And there have been a few competitors we’ve watched on the show for over 10 seasons.

Nany González and Cara Maria Sorbello have become Challenge legends due to the sheer number of seasons they’ve been a part of, and they’ve developed quite a complex relationship with each other. And on Season 34, War of the Worlds 2, they solidified their status as rivals. While Sorbello and González were friendly at one point, they made it known on the Season 34 reunion that such is no longer the case — and González even exposed exactly why she can’t stand Sorbello.

Nany González and Cara Maria Sorbello were on opposite alliances during ‘The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2’

Season 34 of The Challenge was littered with drama, new and old. And Cara Maria Sorbello, along with her boyfriend, Paulie Calafiore, made quite a splash.

The season began with Team U.S. against Team U.K. Team U.S. was stacked with talent, and Sorbello and Calafiore created an alliance with many of the U.S. team members and folks from the U.K. to keep them safe until the end. Unfortunately, while González was on the U.S. team, she was not part of this alliance. And it created a serious rift between her and Sorbello, as González thought Sorbello and Calafiore had it out for her from the beginning.

Even controversial Challenge star Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, who’s known Sorbello for years, noticed a difference in her attitude since she started dating Calafiore. “Our relationships changed and there really is a darkness that’s come over her recently that I think has changed our relationship,” Devenanzio told People.

Sorbello accused González of wanting to hook up with Paulie Calafiore

The War of the Worlds 2 reunion was full of revelations, especially when it came to Sorbello and González. During the reunion, Sorbello accused González of taking a swing at Calafiore at one point on the show. González went on to defend herself, but a verbal fight ensued. And Calafiore, who was seated next to Sorbello, tried to calm it down, People reports.

“Nany, at least I have respect …,” Calafiore attempted to speak over Sorbello and González fighting.

González answered back, “At least you and I are able to communicate.”

After that, mayhem ensued. González said she and Calafiore talk regularly, and Sorbello accused González of trying to hit on Calafiore. González then fired back that Calafiore has said mean things about Sorbello in private, Entertainment Weekly notes.

The Calafiore, González, and Sorbello drama continued at various moments throughout the season. Finally, González explained exactly why she doesn’t like Sorbello anymore.

“What my issue is with Cara is she attacks me personally,” Entertainment Weekly notes González said. “It has nothing to do with the game.”

Sorbello insisted that the reason for their feud during War of the Worlds 2 was because of different alliances. But she also attacked González’s character by saying González spent the entire season binge drinking and smoking instead of scheming to win.

This is far from the first time González has spoken out against Sorbello, too. “I don’t like who she is today,” she told People in August alongside Devenanzio. “I don’t think she’s a good person, and that’s outside of the game and in the game. … The Cara Maria that I saw last season is not the Cara Maria that I want to have in my life.”

Will the feud continue? We’re not sure if Sorbello and González are going to be on any future seasons together, but perhaps it’s for the best if they keep their distance.
