MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 officially ended, and the competitors from the show took the stage for the reunion special. During the reunion, rivalries were hashed out, life triangles were revealed, and a hookup between Josh Martinez and Ashley Mitchell was mentioned. MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 cast had a number of veteran players work together throughout the entirety of the season. And Ashley Mitchell continues to prove she’s a force in the game. So, why did Ashley Mitchell get kicked off The Challenge Season 37? Unfortunately, she allegedly had a verbal altercation with Josh Martinez that turned ugly. She subsequently went home for what occurred. Host T.J. Lavin didn’t elaborate on what went down during the season, but she also didn’t attend the reunion.

While Ashley didn’t attend the reunion, Josh did — and information regarding their relationship came out. Josh and Ashley allegedly hooked up during the season. Amanda Garcia elaborated on the hookup while speaking on the Death, Taxes, and Bananas podcast.

“Oh, Josh and Ashley hooked up,” Heavy reports Amanda said. “And they never showed that. He wanted her to go into the bathroom but she was like ‘no, the bathroom’s f****** weird’.”

Amanda Garcia talked about Ashley Mitchell and Josh Martinez hooking up during The Challenge Season 37 on the podcast episode that went live on Dec. 16, 2021. And the Spies, Lies, and Allies reunion aired on Dec. 22, 2021. Prior to the reunion airing, Ashley took to Twitter on Dec. 20, 2021, to tweet about the “fake drama” that continues to surround her.

“I just realized there was fake drama still happening around my name,” she posted with a laughing-crying emoji. “Have fun with that, ya’ll.”

When a fan noted they thought it was ex-Challenge competitor Hunter Barfield who spread rumors about Ashley, Ashley responded. “He actually has a life outside MTV so I doubt it …,” she commented.

Ashley didn’t elaborate on the “fake drama,” but given the timeline of her tweet, it’s likely she was referring to the alleged hookup between her and Josh.

But that’s all the vague information MTV’s provided about the next season so far. According to spoiler accounts, producers called a number of potential contestants to join, but it’s still unclear which contestants were called. Additionally, with Ashley’s disqualification, MTV could opt to have her skip a season or two before bringing her back on. Fans adore Josh, though, so we fully expect him to return.
