The Challenge season 37 — Spies, Lies, and Allies — saw the debut of Berna Canbeldek from Survivor Turkey. In her rookie season, Berna got off to a good start. But she was eliminated in episode eight when her friend Emy Alupei lied to her and stole her partner, CT Tamburello.

In the wake of her exit from the MTV reality competition, Berna reveals which Challenge vet is “the worst of all of them.” She also takes credit for one of the scariest Challenge players of all time.

‘The Challenge’ rookie says the whole house was against her

After starting the season with The Challenge GOAT as her partner, Berna was in for a huge surprise in episode eight. Emy’s lies and CT’s betrayal landed Berna with a new partner, fellow rookie Hughie Maughan from Big Brother UK. And they lost the elimination.

Berna told Entertainment Weekly that getting eliminated was “so sad” because she and CT were winning almost daily.

“We were just so stressed out and the whole house literally was against me, and happy if I lose,” Berna said. “I felt it the whole day in the house. I knew everyone behind me standing on the stairs are happy that I’m gone. And one week before I was just blindsided by one person that I thought I can trust too, so it was pretty exhausting.”

There’s one thing Berna Canbeldek wishes she would have done differently

Looking back on her first season of The Challenge, Berna says that she does have a few regrets. She admits she made some strategy mistakes, but as a rookie she didn’t know what she was doing. Plus, the  “vets are just crazy-good in this game.”

“The one thing I would have done differently when I see it now is when I won my first elimination, I should have changed my partner,” Berna says. “If I would have think a little better, ‘Of course everyone would have taken CT from me one day anyways,’ so it was stupid to stay with CT.”

Berna added that people always ask her who surprised her the most. At first a few names came to mind. But after she saw CT talking about her in interviews like he did, she says he is “the worst of all of them.”

She wasn’t supposed to be a rookie on ‘The Challenge’ season 37

Berna was one of 19 rookies from all over the globe in season 37. But if she wouldn’t have broken her leg while filming Survivor Turkey, Berna would have made her debut in The Challenge: War of the Worlds.

On a recent episode of The Challenge Mania podcast, Berna said that producers reached out to her ahead of War of the Worlds. But, she was still recovering from her broken leg. So, she suggested that they reach out to her Survivor Turkey co-star, Turabi “Turbo” Çamkıran. One of the scariest Challenge players of all time.

Turbo won ‘War of the Worlds’

Berna’s suggestion that Turbo join the Challenge cast ended up being a game changer. Turbo won his very first season, War of the Worlds, and took home $750,000. And he did it in total beast mode, while scaring the rest of the cast to death.

“Turbo’s not the type of guy you argue with, he’s scary,” Tori Deal noted.

Turbo was known for his karate kicks and superhero poses after winning the daily challenges. He also spoke one of the most memorable lines in Challenge history when he returned for War of the Worlds 2.

Turbo was disqualified from ‘The Challenge’ after an altercation with Jordan Wiseley

Turbo didn’t make it to the finals during his second season because of his feud with Jordan Wiseley. Tensions were high between the two until things erupted “into a full-blown war” in episode 10.

“There’s a look in Turbo’s eyes that I’ve only seen on The Discovery Channel, like craziest predators,” Zach Nichols explained of the growing tensions between Turbo and Jordan.
