‘The Challenge’ Season 37: Where is CT? Fans Think This is Why Production’s Cutting Him Out
MTV’s The Challenge is back with Spies, Lies, and Allies. So far, The Challenge Season 37 continues to prove the strength of the veteran alliance. They’re picking off rookies left and right. While the veterans dominate the challenges and throw the newbies into the elimination rounds, CT Tamburello, one of the most threatening players on the show, is barely featured at all this season. And fans this production purposely edits him out.
[Spoiler alert: Spoilers ahead for MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 winners.]
MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ Season 37 features a whole batch of rookie players
Every season of MTV’s The Challenge features rookies. But The Challenge Season 37, Spies, Lies, and Allies, has more newbies than any other season prior.
This season features international players from around the world, and many of them are brand new to the game. However, they’re not new to reality TV. Players come from shows like Survivor Romania, Love Island Germany, Paradise Hotel Sweden, Dancing With the Stars UK, and Ex on the Beach: Double Dutch Belgium, just to name a few. And there are 19 new players altogether, completely outnumbering the veterans.
Given the number of rookies, the vets decided to put their egos aside and stay together for the good of the group. So far, the plan works. Despite their differences, the veterans continue to win daily challenges and vote successfully together as a block to send rookie teams to fight in the eliminations.
Fans think production is cutting CT Tamburello’s parts out of the season
The production team puts a heavy focus on the newbies in MTV’s The Challenge Season 37. But fans love watching the veteran players they know and love. And CT Tamburello continues to be a force in the competition. He won The Challenge: Double Agents the season prior, as his puzzle skills, physical prowess, and social status typically get him all the way to the end. But fans can’t get a sense of what’s going on with CT in Spies, Lies, and Allies, as production doesn’t feature him often.
Fans think they know exactly what’s happening with CT. One Reddit user suggested production is trying to “phase out” CT so viewers have to get better acquainted with the new players.
” … They are trying to get us used to these rookies so they can start phasing people out (or they phase themselves out),” the Reddit user suggested. “The retention of the non-MTV talent on this show is so low. “
“I know we’re only a few episodes in, but I think just not seeing him much just reminded me of the overall shift and wondering what the vibe will eventually be like with such an experience/familiarity gap between vets and rookies,” another Reddit user noted.
Others think CT purposely avoids the camera and drama to keep a low profile and skate to the finish.
“[Johnny] Bananas said on his podcast that CT usually avoids the cameras, so that could be why,” another fan wrote.
Is CT ‘The Challenge’ Season 37 winner?
So, does CT win MTV’s The Challenge Season 37? According to rumors, he comes out on top once again. This marks back-to-back wins for the champion. Kaycee Clark reportedly wins for the women.
It seems CT’s strategies pay off. According to Josh Martinez, CT originally came up with the idea for an all-veteran alliance — though he doesn’t take part in much of the scheming within the house. Instead, CT had the idea prior to filming. The veterans then executed the plan from there.
“CT kind of set it off in the reunion,” Josh told the Watch With Us podcast, according to Us Weekly. “He’s like, ‘We had such a good reunion.’ It was, like, one of the first ones where we were all on a good page. And he was like, ‘I think the vets should keep this going into the next season.’”
We can’t wait to see how the rest of the show plays out, as the veterans will have to compete against each other eventually.
