Fans of MTV’s The Challenge won’t have to wait too much longer before season 37, Spies, Lies, and Allies, premieres. We’ll see players familiar and new compete for the big money, and fans already have their favorites going into the season. It seems MTV already picked out their new social media for the season as well — and they picked three veteran players to represent Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Here’s who they choose, and what fans are saying.

Rumors ran rampant regarding what was to come for MTV’s The Challenge Season 37. Finally, on July 14, 2021, fans got a glimpse into what’s to come with the new trailer.

The trailer shows host T.J. Lavin in Croatia with the contestants. “Welcome to The Challenge: Spies, Lies, and Allies,” he tells the competitors. From there, we get a glimpse of who’s playing. It seems there are 17 U.S. competitors and 17 international players, and they’ll all start the game in pairs.

“You’ve got team Germany, team Romania, team Nigeria,” Kyle Christie’s voice says in the trailer. “If they band together, we’re screwed.”

Trailer aside, there’s a new promotional poster for the season. A Reddit user posted the poster MTV allegedly created to advertise for the season, and it features all veteran players. The center of the poster has CT Tamburello, the season 36 winner, and around him are Amanda Garcia, Nany González, Big T Fazakerley, Cory Wharton, and Nelson Thomas. Behind the players shows the possible daily challenges, which include obstacles involving cliffs, cars, fire, helicopters, and water.

Fans are surprised these 3 veterans are the faces of the show on social media

New promo poster aside, it looks like MTV’s The Challenge social media also got a facelift. The official Twitter page has a new banner and a new icon. The banner shows veteran players, such as Nany, Devin Walker, Josh Martinez, and Tori Deal with their heads barely above the water in the ocean while a giant wave and helicopter loom overhead. And the icon on Twitter is Nany.

As for the other social media pages, it looks like Cory is the face of the Instagram page, and Big T is the face of the Facebook page.

Fans have a few opinions about MTV’s choices here, too. “Not a single Challenge title between them,” a fan on Reddit wrote. “Cory as the male face of the show? Is it 2017 again? Nany? Now you know they’re really getting desperate. I’m actually shocked it’s not Tori. Maybe Tori was eliminated early again in the upcoming season (no spoiler, I’m just speculating).”

“Together, it equals three people who will never win a Challenge,” another fan wrote. “One will never even make a final.”

Only time will tell regarding how well these new faces of MTV’s The Challenge will do. So, when is Spies, Lies, and Allies premiering? Fans can get excited for Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 8 p.m ET only on MTV.

It looks like fans on the show’s social media will also get some extra commentary from the cast, too. The Challenge: Aftermath Live gives viewers the chance to connect with their favorite players and ask them questions once each episode airs. Before the season even premiered, Devin, Amanda, Nany, and Nelson got together on the show to talk about what’s to come. Big T and Kyle also appeared on the show virtually.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store — and if the three new faces of the show can deliver a win.
