‘The Challenge’ Season 37: An Inside Look Into the New House — and It’s Not a Bunker

MTV's 'The Challenge' Season 37 is almost here, and fans are looking forward to seeing the new digs. According to a video posted online, it seems the new house in Croatia is totally unlike the last few places the competitors stayed. Here's what it looks like.

Fans of MTV’s The Challenge can’t wait to see what’s in store for Spies, Lies, and Allies. The past few seasons of the show have taken place in colder locations. Now, competitors are headed out to Croatia to compete — and the hard days of living in a bunker are no more. Here’s an inside look into the new house.

What is ‘The Challenge’ house? Players have to stay there for the duration of the season

Reality TV viewers know plenty of shows feature competitors living in a house. Big Brother, The Real World, and The Circle all center around the interactions and gameplay that takes place in one location. And MTV’s The Challenge is no different. While competitors fly across the world to all join together and complete — and they take part in daily challenges outside of the home — it’s the house where the drama and social dynamics really come to life.

A typical Challenge house features multiple bedrooms, a kitchen, a gym, and plenty of outdoor space for competitors to roam. But some houses have been less than desirable for competitors. The Challenge Season 35, Total Madness, had contestants living in an underground bunker that provided little sunlight. Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio commented on the grim situation at the time.

“I have never known in my life what true depression feels like until I lived in this bunker for eight weeks,” he said. “And I’ve seen it all. … The Island pales in comparison to the misery that was felt in this bunker.”

MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 house looks a lot different than the past few seasons

Contestants playing MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 won’t be contained to an underground bunker anymore. A Reddit user posted a sneak peek of the house — and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

The clip posted online shows the outside of the house first. It’s a beautiful mansion with two huge, in-ground pools. One of the pools appears to be on ground level, while the other looks like it’s elevated or on the second floor of the building. The pool on ground level has a walkway that leads to the middle of it, and there’s a canopy setup perfect for relaxing.

The inside of the home looks like what fans are used to seeing from many seasons past. Beautifully furnished, another indoor pool, a room with a pool table, bunk bed setups for sleeping, and plenty of space to lounge around.

“That bunker was so depressing,” a Reddit user commented. “They deserve a good house this time!”

Fans can look forward to plenty of hookups, drama, and scheming in MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 house. The new, extended trailer shows the cast in the house, and it looks like the house fosters plenty of romantic relationships.

Spoilers suggest Fessy Shafaat is the center of a number of showmances. He allegedly hooks up with newcomer Bettina Buchanan and Amanda Garcia, a veteran from seasons’ past. Additionally, Nelson Thomas allegedly hooks up with Berna Canbeldek from Survivor Turkey, but the trailer also shows him getting close with Ashley “Millionaire” Mitchell. And, of course, we see the evolution of Kaycee Clark and Nany González’s relationship.

We look forward to seeing what else happens on Spies, Lies, and Allies once the premiere hits on Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. ET only on MTV.
