‘The Challenge’ rookies come from all over the world

As Showbiz Cheat Sheet has previously reported, the 19 newbies competing in season 37 are coming from all over the globe. Due to the reality competition’s international audience, The Challenge producers turned their attention to reality show contestants from overseas to find their newest competitors.

The season will begin with the international “agents” teaming up with veteran players from America. According to Entertainment Weekly, the teams won’t stay that way for long, as the game will change and evolve as the season unfolds.

Some newbies are from ‘Survivor’ and ‘Big Brother’

The diverse roster of rookies on The Challenge: Spies, Lies, and Allies come from Germany, Nigeria, Sweden, Hungary, the UK, Spain, Belgium, Romania, and the United States. Some came from international dating shows, like Paradise Hotel Sweden and Love Island Germany. Others came from the Nigerian version of Big Brother, known as Big Brother Naija.

But the biggest source of rookie contestants was international versions of Survivor. Two contestants are from Survivor Romania, one is from Survivor Turkey, and another is from Survivor Spain. There are also some newbies from the American version of Survivor.

Which ‘The Challenge’ vets are returning for ‘Spies, Lies, and Allies’?

While looking through the list of veterans competing on The Challenge season 37, it’s clear the rookies will have their work cut out for them. The 15 vets in the cast feature eight men and seven women, with two of them being previous winners.

The biggest name competing in Spies, Lies, and Allies is four-time winner CT Tamburello. He is the returning champion, thanks to his win in season 36 Double Agents alongside Amber Borzotra. It’s worth noting that the trailer for the upcoming season indicates that Amber will make an appearance. However, she is not on the official cast list.

The other male contestants are all searching for their first win

CT is the only male contestant to have any finals wins under his belt. Cory Wharton has made it to four finals in eight seasons, but he’s still searching for his first victory in season 37. Devin Walker is back, looking to top his personal best — a third place finish.

Also returning on the male side are Big Brother alums Fessy Shafaat and Josh Martinez. Geordie Shore star Kyle Christie is back for his seventh season of The Challenge. The British vet is attempting to make the finals for a third time.

Nam Vo is back for a second season after making his debut in Double Agents. And, Nelson Thomas is back for his eighth season, with hopes of making the finals for a second time.

‘The Challenge’ female veterans include former champ Ashley ‘Millionaire’ Mitchell

On the ladies side, the only former champ in the cast list is two-time winner Ashley “Millionaire” Mitchell. Aneesa Ferreira will be back for Spies, Lies, and Allies after competing on both season 36 Double Agents and the spinoff The Challenge: All Stars.

Kaycee Clark previously made two finals, and is back this season looking for her first Challenge victory. The same goes for Nany Gonzalez, whose best result so far was second place on Free Agents.

Tori Deal is back again after an early exit in season 36. British reality star Tula ‘Big T’ Fazakerley is fresh off of her best finish ever in Double Agents. She was the last female eliminated before the final.
