‘The Challenge’ Season 38: Casting Calls Reportedly Officially Went Out, and Fans Guess Who’s Returning
Fans of MTV’s The Challenge watched two veterans dominate The Challenge Season 37, Spies, Lies, and Allies. Now, fans want to know what’s to come with The Challenge Season 38. Spoiler accounts recently reported that casting calls officially went out for the new season. Here’s who fans believe will return to the new season of the show.
MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ Season 38 casting calls have allegedly gone out
MTV hasn’t made any official announcements regarding The Challenge Season 38 cast. But spoiler guru GamerVev announced on social media that casting calls officially began.
“Calls for The Challenge 38 have started!” GamerVev posted with an emoji of two eyes, according to Reddit.
Prior to GamerVev’s announcement, PinkRose noted casting calls started substantially earlier. Additionally, Monsters & Critics reports a number of veteran challengers from past seasons received calls from production to potentially join. It’s unclear if casting calls happened prior to GamerVev’s latest post. Either way, it seems production already has an idea of who they want to compete.
With casting calls out now, when will The Challenge Season 38 air? MTV hasn’t given an official release date just yet, but PinkRose noted filming likely begins in March 2022.
“[Season] 38 isn’t until March,” PinkRose posted, Reddit reports. “[A]s of now, nobody is for sure, just availability calls have gone out.”
Fans noted who they believe will return to the show
With The Challenge Season 38 casting calls allegedly out, who will return? Fans on Reddit are giving their best guesses regarding who they believe they’ll see again from The Challenge Season 37 and other past seasons.
“Well let’s see who’s likely … Josh [Martinez], Kyle [Christie], Devin [Walker], Fessy [Shafaat], and Nelson [Thomas] for the guys,” the Reddit user guessed from season 37. “Tori [Deal], Michele [Fitzgerald], Amber [Borzotra]? Those are the few I can think that are likely free and will do it.” Other fans want to see rookie player Michaela Bradshaw return.
It seems fans want to see Team Young Buck back in action — and that means Hunter Barfield needs to return. They also want to see Brad Fiorenza come back to the flagship show. Brad mentioned on The Official Challenge Podcast he’d love to join The Challenge: All Stars Season 3 or the MTV series once again after All Stars 2.
“Realistically thinking, it’d be nice to see guys who really want to do the show back on,” a Reddit user wrote. “Guys like Hunter, Tony [Raines], Marlon [Williams], Brad [Fiorenza], etc.”
Others think fans will see some rookies from season 37 return. “Emy will be back,” another Reddit user noted. ” … They did not give that girl two chances to perform her song to not call her back.” As for the other rookies, some fans want to see Ed Eason and Kelz Dyke return.
It’s also expected that Tori Deal, Fessy Shafaat, Nany González, Aneesa Ferreira, Kaycee Clark, and Devin Walker will join the cast. Nany posted a photo of the crew all vacationing together. This might mean they’re forming an alliance early on.
A few contestants from past seasons already said they don’t plan on returning
A number of past competitors certainly want to return to The Challenge Season 38 — but fans won’t see everyone they know and love. Big T Fazakerley told fans on Instagram that she won’t return for the new season. Heavy reports veteran player Kailah Casillas also doesn’t plan on returning to the flagship series. Kam Williams also won’t return, as she announced her pregnancy.
Additionally, fans on Reddit mentioned rumors suggesting veteran player Ashley Mitchell won’t return. Production asked Ashley to leave The Challenge Season 37 after an altercation with Josh Martinez. It seemed like Ashley wasn’t permanently removed from the show, but we don’t expect her in the next season.
