‘The Chi’ Fans Predict Nina and Dre Breakup in Season 4 Finale
Since marrying in The Chi Season 3, Nina and Dre have become a fan-favorite couple. Played with nuance by Tyla Abercrumbie (Nina) and Miriam A. Hyman (Dre), they have great chemistry and balance one another quite well, with Dre’s laid-back personality complementing Nina’s more serious demeanor. But their relationship has been rocky in The Chi Season 4.
After weeks of strain over a number of things, including Dre’s secrecy about Jada and Nina’s affair, the two are about to have a serious conversation regarding their future together. Seeing the trailer for the Season 4 finale of The Chi, fans of the TV show fear it could result in Nina and Dre’s breakup.
Nina and Dre are not doing great on ‘The Chi’
Nina and Dre have been through plenty of ups and downs together, but infidelity might be a dealbreaker.
Believing Dre was having an affair with Jada, Nina decided to hook up with a woman she met at a bar. When pressed by Dre about her whereabouts that night, Nina flipped the conversation back on her and Jada. It came out that Jada is secretly battling cancer and that she’s been helping her through it – news that immediately had Nina overrun with guilt.
A few days later, after a little persuasion from Emmett, Nina sat Dre down and admitted to the affair. “I was with someone else,” she said through tears, leaving Dre absolutely crushed.
The season 4 finale of ‘The Chi’ finds Nina trying to talk things out
Two episodes later, The Chi is getting ready to explore the aftermath of Nina’s revelation.
Looking at the trailer, it appears Dre has totally iced out her wife. Nina tries desperately to get her to talk to her, asking for one more chance to make things right. “I’ll do whatever I have to do to get us back,” she says. But Dre doesn’t seem interesting in hearing it, as she walks away mid-conversation.
“I hope she leave her,” one fan wrote on YouTube in response to the clip.
“Dre should be on the next thing smoking leaving town……ASAP!!! because there is no trust in this relationship. Nina was too quick to assume dre was cheating on her, without having a conversation,” said another.
“Looks like Dre already left,” read a third comment. “She probably came back to get the rest of her stuff. I don’t think Dre should go back to her because it was too easy for Nina to cheat. If she does go back, it shouldn’t be until Nina gets help. Nina’s drinking is going to become a bigger problem the longer she waits!”
But not everyone thinks a breakup is in the cards
Others said they believe Dre will overcome her hurt and forgive Nina.
“If Dre was gonna leave she would have left already She’s hurt and upset and Nina got a lot of making up to do,” read one comment.
“I think Dre will stay but it will change the relationship going forward,” another fan wrote.
A third fan agreed, writing, “I don’t think Dre is leaving Nina but you never know.”
