The Duggar Family: How Many Elgibile Duggar Bachelors Are There?
While Duggar family followers are a bit busy waiting on news regarding Josh Duggar’s trial, potential courtships might be in the works. Fans spied one of several eligible Duggar boys, Jeremiah Duggar, in an Instagram photo with his rumored girlfriend. Family followers theorize that Jeremiah and Hannah Wissmann could be close to making things official. Still, he is far from the only eligible Duggar bachelor. Several of the Duggar boys are old enough to get married.
Duggar family followers think Jeremiah Duggar is dating Hannah Wissmann
Rumors that Jeremiah could be courting Hannah took hold back in December 2020, right around the time Duggar family followers began speculating about Jana Duggar’s relationship status. Fans spotted Jana spending time with the Wissmann family. While it was originally assumed she was dating Stephen Wissmann, hopes of a romance have since fizzled. Fans have turned their attention to Jeremiah. Family followers spotted him in the same snapshots.
More recently, a member of the Duggar family’s social circle posted an Instagram photo that featured Jeremiah with Hannah. They quickly deleted the snapshot. A photoshopped version of the image has since materialized. In the poorly photoshopped version, Hannah is wiped from the photo. Fans believe the owner photoshopped the image to hide Hannah’s connection to Jeremiah.
Jeremiah Duggar isn’t the only Duggar bachelor who could be dating, though
While there is the most proof that Jeremiah is dating Hannah, he isn’t the only Duggar boy who could be considered an eligible bachelor. Several of the family’s youngest boys are officially adults. Technically, any one of them could get married at any moment. Jeremiah and his twin, Jedidiah Duggar, both 23, are the oldest of the family’s younger boys. Jedidiah married Katey Nakatsu in April 2021.
Jason Duggar, 21, and James Duggar, 20, are the next eldest Duggar boys. Both James and Jason have been linked to Lauren Caldwell in the past, but nothing has ever materialized from the rumors. One fan even speculated that Jason could be interested in his younger brother’s sister-in-law.
According to In Touch, a fan questioned Hilary Spivey about whether Jason was being set up with her younger daughter. Hilary’s eldest child, Claire Spivey, married Justin Duggar in February 2021. Spivey shot down the idea, stating that their third eldest child was certainly too young to be thinking about such things. Jason is soon to be 21, and the daughter in question is just 15.
Jackson Duggar, not yet 18, could technically be dating, too. His older brother, Justin, started courting Claire before his 18th birthday. Justin proposed shortly after he turned 18. They married just a few months later. While Justin married the youngest, few married Duggars waited past their early 20s to tie the knot. John David Duggar, 31, married Abbie Burnett in 2018. So far, he was substantial older when he began courting than the rest of his siblings. His twin sister, Jana, is still single, though.
Family followers think wedding bells are looming for at least one Duggar
Duggar family followers largely agree that the family has put a moratorium on major announcements until Josh Duggar’s trial is over. That, however, hasn’t stopped a few pieces of big news from sneaking out. Jedidiah and Katey announced their pregnancy, and Jessa Duggar announced the birth of her fourth child since Josh’s arrest. Still, information has been slow to come, and romance announcements have all but stopped.
As it stands, it looks like Jeremiah might be the next Duggar to head down the aisle. The deleted Instagram photo and Jeremiah’s recent musings on social media seem to indicate something is going on. It seems unlikely the pair would wed ahead of Josh’s November 30 trial, though. If they do, it would probably remain secret until after the event takes place. There is a precedent for waiting to announce a marriage now. The Duggar family did not announce Jedidiah’s marriage until after they were husband and wife.
