‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’: Kris Jenner Said She Had to Tell Khloé Kardashian to ‘Go Home’ After the End of ‘KUWTK’
Fans were shocked and saddened when Kourtney, Khloé, Kim, Kylie, and the rest of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians crew announced they were discontinuing the show.
Recently, Kris Jenner joined Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss how her family members feel. And Kris revealed Khloé Kardashian had so much trouble with the show ending that Kris had to tell her to leave the set. Here’s what happened.
Kris Jenner talked about the end of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ with Ellen DeGeneres
While fans want to see KUWTK continue for years to come, Kris knew it was time to call it quits. The family started the show to share their lives with the world, and now that they’re all headed in different directions, they have new plans for the future. And Kris talked about the show ending while virtually visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2020.
“I think we were talking about signing up for another couple of years with our network and suddenly just all came to the decision as a group that the whole family felt it was just time,” Kris explained regarding why her family stopped the show. “We thought, you know, 20 seasons, 14 years, hundreds of episodes, and lots of spin-offs.”
Kris then explained that she can now “look back” at everything her family’s gone through with the show, as the episodes serve as “the most amazing home movies in the world.”
Kris told DeGeneres she had to tell Khloé Kardashian to ‘go home’
While the Kardashian family came together to decide to end the show, not everyone was excited about it. And it seems Khloé had the biggest issue. Kris told DeGeneres that Khloé got the most upset when it came to shooting the last scenes.
“I think the most emotional is Khloé,” Kris said. “We all got so emotional when we had to break it to the crew. Because we’ve been with the same crew basically day one, season 1, the first thing we ever shot, we’re still with the same show-runner and the same production company. So it was really emotional because they’re now like extended family to us.”
Kris then went on to talk more about Khloé’s reaction. And it seems the momager had to drag her daughter off the set when all was said and done. “After we told the crew and everybody had gone home, Khloé stayed there with the crew for hours reminiscing about old times,” Kris continued. “And I’m like, Khloé, you’ve got to go home now, Honey.”
DeGeneres said Kris is ‘too smart’ to sit idly by now that the show’s over
After discussing the show’s end, DeGeneres told Kris that she’s far too intelligent to be finished with stardom completely. And the friends addressed the rumor that Kris would start appearing on a Real Housewives series. Unfortunately for Bravo fans, that doesn’t seem to be the direction Kris is headed.
“As far as me doing a show like that regularly, there’s just too much going on in my life,” Kris said. “They do not need a Kris Jenner on that show. They are doing just fine.”
DeGeneres then said she bets Kris already “has a show in mind” for the future that involves “spin-offs” and making “more money.” To that, Kris didn’t answer. Instead, she asked DeGeneres to be her manager since DeGeneres has such great ideas.
As for what’s in store for Khloé, it seems she and Tristan Thompson are giving romance another go. We’d all love a spin-off to hear about their family drama!
