‘The Family Chantel’: Why Chantel Is Questioning ‘Everything’ Angenette Has Said To Her

In season 2 of The Family Chantel, there seems to be drama at every turn. Chantel Everett’s brother, Royal, has returned to Atlanta, and he’s brought his new wife, Angenette with him. Chantel already has her reservations about her, and this week, she admits to questioning “everything” Angenette has said to her.

Royal has a new wife named Angenette

Royal met his wife Angenette online when she added him on Facebook. She’s from the Philippines, and on Royal’s first visit to see her, he proposed. They used the K-1 visa process to bring her to the United States, and they were married just a week after her arrival, according to Chantel.

But Chantel has some reservations about the new match. She finds Angenette to be “quiet” and unlike the women that Royal has dated before.

Chantel admits that her brother told her that when the couple was first together, Angenette was “romantically messaging other guys that were also in America,” Chantel says.

Why Chantel is questioning ‘everything’ Angenette has said to her

This week, Chantel goes with her mother, Karen, to accompany Angenette as she picks out a wedding dress for their second wedding in the Philippines. Chantel starts probing for answers, and it leads her to question “everything” her new sister-in-law has said to her in the past.

First, Chantel asks Angenette how she met her brother. She says they met on Facebook after he showed up on her friend suggestions. Then Chantel asks, “Oh, so maybe you had some friends in common?”

But Angenette says that isn’t the case. “No?” Chantel continues to question. Angenette says she “saw him,” and then “added him.”

“Have you talked to any other American guys?” Chantel then asks. Angenette shakes her head, and says she doesn’t because she’s “really afraid.”

Chantel admits that she doesn’t mean “right now.” Angenette still insists that she hadn’t talked to men before. “I never talked to other men,” Angenette tells them.

Angenette’s answer makes Chantel “question” what Angenette has said to her in the past based on what Royal told her previously. “When Royal moved back, he told me that when him and Angenette were chatting, that she was also chatting with other American guys as well,” Chantel says. “The fact the she’s lying to me about it now, makes me question everything that she’s ever said to me.”

Chantel goes on to say that Royal might not “trust her enough.” Angenette says that he “needs to trust” her, and she isn’t “doing anything bad.”

There is even more to the story though. Later, Angenette talks to a producer after trying on wedding dresses, and she goes on to reveal that she had a miscarriage. She says that Royal said she might have hooked up with someone else in the Philippines before coming to the United States.

“I had a miscarriage,” Angenette reveals. “We went to the hospital, and then we found out that maybe I am two weeks pregnant. And then he doubted it.” She also added: “He said that maybe I hook up another guy in the Philippines before I went here.”

Can Chantel ever learn to trust Angenette? Only time will tell, but it sounds like there could be a lot more drama to come from this situation.
