The First Twin Duggar Grandchildren Have Arrived
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar‘s list of grandchildren just grew by two. Jedidiah Duggar and Katey Nakatsu have announced the arrival of their twin daughters. They are the first set of twin grandchildren born into the family, and they just so happened to be born to a twin himself. The girls are the first Duggar grandchildren born in 2025, but a few more will come later this year.

Jedidiah Duggar and his wife, Katey Nakatsu, spent their last Christmas as a family of four. Days later, their family grew by two with the arrival of their twin daughters. The couple took to Instagram to announce the birth of Elsie Kate Duggar and Emma Kate Duggar.
According to the official announcement, Elsie Kate Duggar was born on Jan. 8 at 2:06 pm. Little sister Emma followed seven minutes later. Katey reported that both girls are healthy and happy, weighing in at 6lbs and 14 ounces and 7lbs and 2oz, respectively. Jill Dillard, who still appears to be at odds with her famous family, was quick to comment and offer her congratulations and warm wishes.
Jedidiah and Katey shocked Duggar family followers in April 2021 when they married. The couple never announced a courtship and reportedly only knew each other briefly before tying the knot. In fact, Katey took to Instagram recently to “flex” just how quickly their romance progressed. That didn’t stop them from getting started on growing their family.
The couple’s first child, Truett Oliver, was born 13 months after their wedding. Their first daughter, Nora Kate, was born in May 2023, one year after her older brother. The couple announced they were expecting twins in July 2024.
How many twins are in the Duggar family?
While it’s not uncommon for twins to run in a family, the Duggar family welcomed more than 30 grandchildren before twins were born. Jedidiah and Katey’s new arrivals mark the first twin grandchildren born into the family, but Michelle Duggar gave birth to two sets herself.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed their second and third children, a set of twins, in 1990. Jana Duggar and John David Duggar might have been the first set of twins in the family, but they were not the last. Jedidiah Duggar and his twin, Jeremiah Duggar, joined the family in 1998. Just like his twin, Jeremiah is quickly expanding his own family, although his wife, Hannah Wissmann, has not yet announced a twin pregnancy. The duo are awaiting the arrival of their third baby later this year.
