The season 5 finale of The Flash may have left fans distraught with heartbreak. But, don’t fret — the sixth season premiere is on its way. And it looks like The CW series will return where the finale left off. The new season makes its debut on Tuesday, Oct. 8. However, cable-cutting fans might be feeling a bit of FOMO for the next few weeks, especially if they’re only relying on one subscription service. So when will The Flash Season 6 be on Netflix? Here’s everything you need to know.

‘The Flash’ Season 6 release date on Netflix (UPDATED)

As the premiere begins airing on The CW starting Oct. 8, it’s difficult to determine when Netflix will release The Flash Season 6. The streaming giant has a history of adding new episodes a week or two after the season finale drops on The CW. For example, the fifth season finale, titled “Legacy,” originally aired on May 14. Then on May 22 — a mere eight days later — the season was added to the streaming queue.

Nevertheless, it’s possible to predict the potential release date for season 6. The Flash Season 5 started airing new episodes on Oct. 9, 2018. So, if The CW continues with the same schedule as the previous year, then it’s likely fans will see the upcoming season on Netflix in late May.

Update: The Flash Season 6 will be on Netflix starting May 20, 2020.

Will ‘The Flash’ ever leave Netflix?

With the streaming wars looming over us, it seems like fans always have to worry about what’s leaving Netflix. Sadly, The CW ended its long-standing streaming deal with Netflix. So not every show from the network will be available on the streaming service moving forward. Nevertheless, shows like The Flash will continue to be released on Netflix — but there’s a catch.

According to The Verge, The CW and Netflix’s new deal ensures CW titles — such as The Flash, Arrow, and Supernatural — will continue to be on the streaming site until they stop airing new episodes. So, The Flash won’t be in any danger of leaving Netflix until The CW cancels the series. New seasons will also be added per usual. That being said, new CW shows like Batwoman and Nancy Drew will be open for bidding.

What will happen when The CW series returns for season 6?

At San Diego Comic-Con, Candice Patton, who plays Iris West-Allen, revealed where our favorite characters start when The Flash Season 6 returns. And quite frankly, it might destroy you, especially if you aren’t over what happened to Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy).

“Season 6 picks up like 10 seconds after season 5 so Barry and Iris are still dealing with the loss of Nora, it’s very raw, it’s very fresh,” Patton told Comicbook.com.

The actress also explained Team Flash must deal with the loss before the highly anticipated Crisis on Infinite Earths arc. Patton explained, “We see them very early on, episode 1, really grappling with how to deal with the loss of Nora so they can move forward in a healthy way and deal with the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths.”

Meanwhile, Grant Gustin also teased the premiere at San Diego Comic-Con. And it’s not looking so great for Barry Allen and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell).

“The Monitor shows up at the end of our first episode and says the universe is in jeopardy and in order to save the universe, Barry Allen has to die,” Gustin said. “And Barry Allen doesn’t know about this deal Oliver made with the Monitor, either, so someone’s gonna die.” Yikes.

Get ready — The Flash Season 6 premiere is coming. And with the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover well on its way, fans won’t want to miss out. Now, if you strictly use Netflix, you’ll have to wait a little longer before delving into new storylines. However, it will hopefully be worth the wait.
