Team Flash will look a little different in ‘The Flash’ Season 7

The Flash Season 7 will feature a slightly different dynamic for Team Flash. Although most of the cast is set to return to the show, Hartley Sawyer is out as Ralph Dibney, aka Elongated Man. The actor was fired after offensive tweets from his account surfaced. The language used in the tweets was racist and misogynistic, and as a result, The CW and The Flash boss promptly disavowed the comments and dismissed Sawyer.

Although Team Flash will be one ally down, the super crew will gain two new members. According to Deadline, previously recurring guest stars Brandon McKnight and Kayla Compton have been promoted to series regulars. So their alter egos, Chester P. Runk and Allegra Garcia, will be mixing it up with Team Flash full time in season 7.

Chester brings his expertise in the sphere of technology and mechanics to the group. On the other hand, Allegra has become Iris’ journalistic right hand at the Central City Citizen. Plus, her metahuman ability to manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum comes in handy in a pinch.

The season 7 premiere will reveal Iris’ fate

In the back half of The Flash Season 6, Iris became trapped inside the Mirrorverse. During her imprisonment in the alternate dimension, Mrs. West Allen began to suffer from neural dissonance, which brought on symptoms, including headaches, confusion, and skin irritation.

By the finale, Iris had begun to exhibit strange abilities within her new environment, but her neurological symptoms became worse. In a fit of pain, she lost control of her powers and teleported to an unknown location. Unfortunately, the plucky journalist remained trapped in the Mirrorverse at the end of season 6, leaving viewers pondering the shocking cliffhanger.

Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to find out what happened to Iris. The Flash showrunner, Eric Wallace, confirmed to CBR that the season 7 premiere will reveal Iris’ fate. “You find out where Iris went and, oh boy, will there be tears. Oh my. Tears in our season premiere,” Wallace told the outlet.

Iris’ Mirrorverse situation isn’t the only storyline that needs to be wrapped up in The Flash Season 7. Season 6 of the show brought the death of the Speed Force. Without the mystical power source, Barry Allen cannot retain his metahuman abilities. The speedster’s powers are fading quickly and will soon disappear if he doesn’t find a new energy source.

Desperate to regain his abilities, Barry challenged Team Flash to help him build a new Speed Force to restore his superspeed. It remains to be seen just how the narrative will unfold, but one thing is certain. According to what Wallace told CBR, Barry will regain his powers. “Barry has to get his speed back at some point. I mean, the show is called The Flash,” the showrunner said in the interview.

The Flash Season 7 is slated to debut early in 2021. Until then, fans can catch up on previous episodes on CWTV.com.
