Despite the predicament Cassie finds herself in as soon as The Flight Attendant Season 2 opens, episode 2 does give her something to celebrate. She’s officially one year sober in “Mushrooms, Tasers, and Bears, Oh My!” And her Alcoholics Anonymous group honors the milestone by presenting her with a chip.

Her brother visits for the occasion, and her boyfriend, Marco (Santiago Cabrera), shows up to offer support. On the surface, everything about Cassie’s life seems to have improved. Of course, there’s still the matter of the person impersonating her and the bloody wig in her suitcase.

And those remain at the forefront of her mind, even as she celebrates her sobriety. While everyone around her is focused on what she’s accomplished, Cassie sets her sights on a possible lead: her coworker, Grace (Mae Martin).

Episode 2 sees Cassie pursuing a possible lead

While everyone around Cassie congratulates her for staying sober, Kaley Cuoco’s character proves she hasn’t completely changed from The Flight Attendant Season 1.

In The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 2, Cassie comes up with a theory about who’s impersonating her. She believes her new coworker, Grace, might be behind what happened in Berlin. And although Annie (Zosia Mamet) advises her to steer clear of the whole situation, Cassie dives headfirst into it.

Cassie attempts to make plans with Grace, and when her coworker declines, she follows her around. She witnesses Grace collecting a mysterious package. However, a get-together later in the episode seemingly clears Grace’s name. It appears Grace sells Fentanyl to people with cancer. It’s not exactly legal, but it’s also not on par with what Cassie suspected.

Cassie also gets a glimpse of Grace’s back while she’s in the shower, confirming she doesn’t have an identical tattoo. On top of that, her perfume doesn’t match the one Cassie smelled in Berlin — meaning Grace is no longer suspect number one. Of course, that doesn’t put Cassie’s mind at ease. Because if Grace isn’t impersonating her, who is?

What in the world is going on with Megan Briscoe?

While Cassie tries to determine who’s impersonating her, The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 2 offers brief glimpses of Megan Briscoe (Rosie Perez). It’s hard to say what she’s up to this season. The first installment saw her calling Cassie, and it seemed like she was in trouble. However, “Mushrooms, Tases, and Bears, Oh My!” doesn’t explain that.

Instead, the latest installment sees Megan collecting poisonous plants. It’s unclear who she’s trying to use them on — Utada (Margaret Cho), the woman she appears to be staying with, the people she was spying on during the first episode, or someone else entirely.

Whatever Megan is up to, it’s clear she’s trying to get a message to Cassie. She sends a string of Emojis to her son, who passes them along. Unfortunately, Cassie doesn’t know what they mean. And she’s unlikely to spend much time on them, especially as she tries to solve her own mystery.

Megan’s not the only supporting character to get a subplot in The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 2. Annie is figuring herself out this season, and she’s not used to being so lost. The second installment sees her going on an interview, but things don’t go so well. As she puts it, “Imagine the worst date ever and set it on fire.” And honestly, that’s an apt description.

Fortunately, she has Cassie and Max (Deniz Akdeniz) to support her. And she and Max have a distraction, since they’re now invested in helping Cassie solve her mystery. The two use the View-Finder to search for clues. However, their interference could put them in danger. In fact, the end of the episode suggests they’re already in trouble.

When the two return to Cassie’s house after dinner, they find Esteban (Joseph Julian Soria) trying to break into Cassie’s house. Although she met the man in Berlin, they have no idea who he is. And he defuses the situation, claiming he’s staying in an Airbnb and can’t tell the difference between all the homes.

Of course, when Gabrielle (Callie Hernandez) emerges from the house across the street, the situation takes an even weirder turn. Not only is Gabrielle holding a weapon behind her back, but she has the homeowners tied up inside the house.

It’s unclear how Esteban and Gabrielle factor into Cassie’s story, but their appearance doesn’t look good for her. Hopefully, she catches on before it’s too late.

The first two episodes of The Flight Attendant Season 2 are streaming on HBO Max.
