The TV show revivals keep on coming. The Game is coming back for the third time. But it’s getting a new city and a few new cast members along with some original stars.

‘The Game’ is being revived on Paramount+

The Game started through a backdoor pilot on Girlfriends. The episode “The Game” followed Joan’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) cousin, Melanie (Tia Mowry-Hardrict) torn between going to medical school in Baltimore or San Diego. Meanwhile, her boyfriend Derwin (Pooch Hall) is starting his career as a professional football player in San Diego.

The pilot was successful and The Game became its own show on UPN, which later became The CW. It lasted three seasons there before it was canceled. BET revived it for six more seasons. The network then canceled it in 2015, but gave it an ending.

“All good things must come to an end and after celebrating four successful seasons of The Game on BET, the Network has announced production is underway on the show’s final two seasons,” read BET’s statement according to Deadline. “In January 2011 the cult following of The Game proved that the show was a fan favorite with 7.7 million viewers for its premiere debut on BET. With seasons eight and nine, we’re excited to end on a high note by giving Sabers fans a chance to bid farewell to their favorite players on and off the field.”

But it’s coming back again through Paramount +. The cast is getting a few changes to reflect the show’s new chapter, and the show has a new setting.

These stars are returning for the revival

Fans will be happy to see some familiar faces. Wendy Raquel Robinson will be back as Tasha Mack along with Hosea Chanchez playing her son, Malik Wright.

Other original cast members Brittany Daniel (Kelly Pitts), Cody Bell (Jason Pitts), and Hall are returning in “some capacity” according to Entertainment Weekly. There will be many new characters for the latest version of the show.

Kelly and Jason’s daughter will be played by Adriyan Rae. Her best friend and football player Garret Evans will be played by Toby Sandeman. Vaughn Hebron will also be an undrafted free agent named Jamison Fields. Tim Daly is playing a billionaire named Col. Ulysses S. Thatcher.
