‘The Good Place’ Star Says This Cast Member Is ‘From a Different Planet’
One of the things that make The Good Place so enjoyable to watch is its talented ensemble cast. Ted Danson, Kristen Bell, D’Arcy Carden, William Jackson Harper, Manny Jacinto, and Jameela Jamil all bring something unique and interesting to the popular NBC sitcom. And while it often proves difficult for so many actors to get along, the cast of The Good Place have all declared that they got along famously.
Two people that formed an incredibly close bond were Danson and Carden. As the pair spent tons of time together on camera, they were able to develop a friendship. And the friendship will extend beyond their time on The Good Place. Following the series finale of the show, Danson expressed in an interview that he’d found a friend for life in Carden and she immediately returned the sentiment.
D’Arcy Carden shares that ‘The Good Place’ cast was very close
In an interview with Gold Derby, Carden reflected on a moment where she felt her bond with Danson deepening. While filming the episode “Janet and Michael” in Season 2, Carden felt deeply connected to Danson as a friend and an actor. “The cast bonded very quickly,” Carden revealed. “We were friends at that point and there was just something about getting to be with him all week just the two of us really getting to know each other and really getting to act with literally one of the best actors on the face of the planet and certainly one of the best scene partners I’ve ever worked with, if not the best.”
Carden says Ted Danson is from another planet
And Carden isn’t alone in her sentiments. The rest of The Good Place cast have all been open about what a joy Danson is to work with. In fact, Carden says that he’s such a great scene partner that he almost seems otherworldly at times. “I think all of the cast would say that, that he’s just from a different planet,” Carden confessed. “He’s the most connected, giving, supportive scene partner you could possibly ask for.”
Carden also revealed that Danson is very candid about how a scene is going. The Cheers alum wasn’t shy about giving positive affirmations to his fellow castmates and that is something that The Good Place stars really came to appreciate. “He’s a giving person and he’s a giving scene partner and when things feel good, he likes to let you know, like, ‘Oh, that was good.’ You like to hear that from him. He’s no BS, so if something went well, it’s great to hear from him that it went well.”
The cast of ‘The Good Place’ wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the show
Clearly, the cast of The Good Place formed a very tight bond despite only working together for four seasons. While their bond made it even more difficult to say goodbye to one another and to the show, they all look back on their time on the show with great fondness. We look forward to seeing what the talented cast members do next.
