Nick appears to arrest June in his trailer for ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

Each character’s trailer for the fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale includes a mix of flashback scenes and new scenes from the upcoming season.

Nick’s trailer opens with Nick standing in front of June at night. June is dressed in a Martha’s uniform and her face is bloody, alluding to the idea that she was posing undercover or in hiding.

“Where are the Handmaids?” Nick asks as Guardians circle around June.

The next scene shows June with a muzzle on while restrained in the back of a car. Nick undoes some of the restraints and sits across from her.

“If you don’t tell them where they are, I can’t help you. Please, let me help you,” Nick pleads with her.

Nick’s primary focus is June in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

As Nick’s trailer continues, fans see flashbacks from the previous three seasons and Nick narrates the trailer through a voiceover.

“I found the one thing that was impossible in Gilead, love,” he says. “And the price I paid was that my allegiance would be forever divided. And I would never be free.”

The final scene in the trailer shows June and Nick in the third season of The Handmaid’s Tale as June tries to convince Nick to speak to the Swiss about keeping their daughter in Canada.

“This is your chance to be a father to our daughter,” June tells Nick.

Max Minghella did not appear in many episodes in the third season

In season 3 of The Handmaid’s Tale, Nick only appeared in a handful of episodes. Showrunner Bruce Miller explained that while Minghella filmed more scenes for Nick in the third season, those scenes were cut.

“We just don’t have the real estate in the show,” Miller said in a 2019 interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “We would love to delve into more stories. We had all sorts of other stuff with Nick… Max is a wonderful actor. He has scenes that we filmed that we weren’t able to use, and it’s heartbreaking.”

While Nick’s scenes in the third season were cut, it appears the character will have a prominent role in the fourth season. On March 30, Hulu released a trailer for season 4 of The Handmaid’s Tale, and Nick appeared frequently throughout the trailer.
