While it’s been a year since the Friends star died, the house he owned has only just now been sold. Reportedly, the sale was finalized just days before the first anniversary of his death.

A movie producer and real estate developer purchased Matthew Perry’s house

The home where Matthew Perry died in October 2023 has officially been sold. According to Page Six, the house was purchased by a movie producer and real estate developer in an off-market deal. The new owner paid $8.5 million for the four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home. The property includes 3,500 square feet of living space and a well-kept backyard, including an expansive hot tub where Perry was found dead.

The Pacific Palisades house was reportedly purchased as an investment property. However, it is unclear exactly how the new owner intends to use the space. Perry bought the home in 2020. According to property records, he paid $6 million.

Before moving into the home, Perry made some significant real estate moves. Before he purchased the Pacific Palisades home, he mostly resided in Malibu. According to People, Perry offloaded a stunning Malibu beach house after a decade of ownership in 2021. The same year, he sold his 9,300-square-foot Los Angeles penthouse. The penthouse languished on the market for two years before its sale.

What was Matthew Perry’s cause of death?

Matthew Perry’s died from a drug overdose. The Friends alum had high levels of ketamine in his system when he lost consciousness in his hot tub and drowned. The death came just days after an Instagram follower expressed concerns about the actor in the comment section of an eerie post.

In August, five people were arrested in connection with Perry’s death. Two doctors, an alleged distributor, one of Perry’s associates, and his assistant were all charged.
