‘The Incredible Dr. Pol’s New Season Is Starting Soon
The Incredible Dr. Pol has been on NatGeo WILD now for sixteen seasons.
Following Michigan veterinarian Dr. Jan Pol and his incredible staff throughout their duties at Pol Veterinary Clinic, the reality show has a loyal following of fans and is kicking off its new season in July.
Here’s what we know about the popular veterinary reality show’s new season!
The current season ended in March 2020
At the end of its present season, the show continued to follow the doctors and staff as they made their rounds treating large farm animals in their rural community.
The show is one of Nat Geo Wild’s most popular programs and streams also on Disney Plus, where it’s in demand with younger audiences.
Speaking with The Chicago Tribune in 2018 about his sudden fame and the show’s fans, Dr. Pol stated, “I’ve said many times, the show is about animals. The people that watch the show love animals — and people that love animals are good people. And those are the ones that come to meet us.”
“We were walking down the street here,” the Netherlands-born animal doctor said, “and suddenly this man looked at us and said, ‘Dr. Pol! Gimme a picture! We love your show!’ That is fantastic. We meet the nicest people.”
Dr. Emily said goodbye at the end of Season 16
Dr. Emily was, and even after her departure still is, a beloved part of The Incredible Dr. Pol to fans. Since leaving the program, Dr. Emily and her family are now relocated in Virginia, where she has joined another veterinary practice.

Dr. Emily recalled on her blog what it was like when she first started working for Dr. Pol.
“When I first arrived and followed Dr. Pol around,” she wrote, “I was absolutely impressed with the sheer speed in which he saw patients. He would walk in a room and basically have a diagnosis before examining the animal. I figured that this was just from his years and years of experience and I had mountains to climb to catch up to his efficiency.”
The ‘4th of Pol-y’ marathon will usher in Season 17
The new season of the show begins on July 11. But before it starts, Nat Geo Wild is treating Pol fans to a massive The Incredible Dr. Pol marathon.
Charles Pol, Dr. Pol’s son and the show’s executive producer, made the big announcement on YouTube this week.
Charles said, “I know we’ve been gone from your lives for a little bit of time, but that’s because we’re trying to get a lot of new content for you guys. I’m excited to announce the season premiere of The Incredible Dr. Pol on July 11 at 9:00PM EST.”
Before the new season starts, the “4th of Pol-y” marathon airs from June 29th to July 6 with back-to-back-to-back episodes of all Dr. Pol, all the time on Nat Geo Wild.
