‘The Incredible Dr. Pol’s ‘Summer of Pol’ Is Heating Up on Nat Geo Wild
We’re almost in the thick of summer, so that must mean it’s also almost time for a marathon with The Incredible Dr. Pol.
There is very little that veteran veterinarian Dr. Jan Pol hasn’t seen or done in his years of practicing animal medicine. And the “Summer of Pol” showcases life in the doc’s rural Michigan community and the stellar staff that help him get it all done. Plus, the special weeklong event is the lead-in to the show’s 19th season, premiering this Saturday at 9 p.m.
They’re having a heat wave on the ‘Summer of Pol’
In a Facebook Live event this weekend along with his young daughter Abigail, the show’s executive producer Charles Pol let it be known that the annual “Summer of Pol” will be underway this week.
“Starting Monday [July 5], the ‘Summer of Pol’ will be starting on Nat Geo,” Charles announced. “Running through Saturday, the ‘Summer of Pol.’ So, check that out, everybody, on the lead-up to the premiere of the new season of The Incredible Dr. Pol next Saturday. So the new season of The Incredible Dr. Pol starts next Saturday at 9 p.m. on Nat Geo Wild. So, thank you, we hope that you guys are really going to enjoy that. Make sure you tune in to the ‘Summer of Pol’ starting Monday.”
There’s more than a new season expected from the Pols
As Charles noted in a June Facebook Live video, “there’ll be new episodes every Saturday” during the show’s upcoming 19th season. He also made it clear that one of Dr. Pol’s most popular and senior vets isn’t going anywhere: “Dr. Brenda is not leaving the show. The new season of The Incredible Dr. Pol premieres July 10th at 9 p.m. on Nat Geo Wild. We really appreciate it, and again, Dr. Brenda’s not leaving. Dr. Brenda’s not leaving, N-O-T, take it to the bank.”
Also expected for the Pol family? A new baby from Charles and his wife, Beth. Their daughter Abigail is almost 2 years old and her sibling is due at any time.
“We’ve been really busy here,” Charles added. “Getting ready to have another baby, so that’s something we’re looking forward to. This Fourth of July weekend is possibly delivering a new baby.”
As of right now, the Pols have not announced whether the newest member of their family has yet arrived.

The most current season of the show, season 18, is now on Disney+, along with every other previous season.
The 18th season catches the Pol Veterinary Clinic staff going head-to head with the global pandemic. And as usual, they handle the challenge with professionalism and humor. Episodes in season 18 include: “Love Wool Find a Way,” “Shiver Me Puppers,” and “Lights, Camel, Action,” in which the doc treats a camel brought to his clinic.
