Khloé Kardashian’s BFF Malika Haqq is just weeks away from giving birth to the first time. The actress and reality star has documented her pregnancy experience since her official announcement and can’t wait to meet her baby boy.
In the midst of her excitement, she’s facing harsh backlash for the revelation that she intends on going under the knife for a “mommy makeover.”
Malika Haqq announces she’s getting surgery post-birth
Haqq has been prepping for the birth of her first son with her beau rapper beau ex, OT Genasis. She announced her pregnancy late last fall in an emotional Instagram post.
“I listen to my heart, and I’ve decided that the rest of my life will be the best of my life. I’m pregnant. I didn’t know when, I just knew one day. God said it’s my turn, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the little spirit that grows inside of me. I am yours, baby, and you are mine.”

She’s since been sharing her journey with her followers through maternity shots. Haqq was recently just given a baby shower from Kardashian, and her twin sister Khadijah.
While many fans are excited for the soon-to-be mom, she ruffled some feathers with her latest Instagram post. The 36-year-old posed next to surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond with the caption:
“Stopped by just to see my fav @drjasondiamond and I’m fully book [sic] for my post pregnancy makeover. I can’t wait!”
Fans slam Malika Haqq for surgery announcement
Unlike many celebrities, Haqq was open about her decision to go under the knife but fans accused the star of being shallow. She’s received tons of criticism since the post, with many in opposition of her decision primarily because they believe Haqq does not know what her body will look like post-labor.
“Sis not even gonna give birth first and see what it’s looking like? It’s just boom surgery? Wow,” one wrote.
“Malika hasn’t even had her baby yet and she already booked a post pregnancy “makeover” surgery??? What’s wrong with this world. She doesn’t even know how long it’ll take her body to heal yet,” another chimed in.
Considering the changes a woman’s body goes through during pregnancy and delivery, others were supportive of her decision.
Y’all really on here mad at Malika for setting up her post-pregnancy “mommy makeover” surgery? Y’all act like pregnancy doesn’t change some (if not most) women’s bodies permanently. Let her do WTF she wants. If YOU had the money, you’d prolly do it TOO,” one declared.
“Listen being able to create and birth a baby is a blessing in itself but this whole “you need to appreciate every thing your baby does to your body” mindset and being mad at Malika for posting about her getting surgery post body is unfair to be honest,” another wrote.
Haqq hasn’t responded to any of the chatter surrounding her post. As long as she’s secured in her decision, that’s all that matters.
