‘The Kardashians’: Hulu Announces New Reality Series With Release Date, Show Details, and Teaser
TV hasn’t been the same without the Kardashian-Jenners. But the famous family will be back soon with a new show streaming on Hulu. The streaming company announced The Kardashians on Feb. 7, unveiling the release date, show details, and more.
‘The Kardashians’ Hulu series will premiere in April 2022
The Kardashians will air on Thursdays starting on April 14. The news was shared along with a short teaser video featuring Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner, all in glam.
“The family you know and love is here with a brand new series, giving an all access pass into their lives,” the Hulu synopsis reads. “Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie bring the cameras back to reveal the truth behind the headlines. From the intense pressures of running billion-dollar businesses to the hilarious joys of playtime and school drop-offs, this series brings viewers into the fold with a rivetingly honest story of love & life in the spotlight.”
The series will be executive produced by showrunner Danielle King, Ben Winston, Emma Conway, and Elizabeth Jones.
The show will reportedly feature new concepts
In an interview published in October 2021, an insider opened to Us Weekly about what viewers could expect from the new show.
“The new show is going to have the entire family be part of it, but Kim, Khloé [Kardashian], Kourtney [Kardashian] and Kris [Jenner] are going to be on it the most,” the source said. “There’s a strong focus on Kim’s journey as a lawyer, which fans got a taste of in the last season [of Keeping Up With the Kardashians]. They’re making [the new show] somewhat political.”
The insider noted that the family had more creative control than they did on their hit E! series and had recently begun to film. “It’s an entirely different concept,” the insider continued. “It’s more chic. They recently started filming. They’re going to try to keep filming on the down-low as much as possible to keep it a surprise for fans.”
It’s unclear what will make it on the show, but there’s plenty they could include. From Kardashian West’s impending divorce from Kanye West to the birth of Kylie and Travis Scott’s second child, it’s certainly been an eventful time for the family. It’ll be interesting to see what happens on the show, regardless of whether it features those events.
‘The Kardashians’ comes almost a year after the conclusion of the family’s hit E! series
The series will arrive almost a year after the June 2021 conclusion of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which enjoyed 20 seasons and 14 years on the air. Explaining why the show ended, Kardashian West told Grazia magazine she and her family were simply ready for a break after so many years of living in front of cameras.
“This was a dream of all of ours,” she said. “We never imagined we would get onto season two. Now we’re on twenty. Sometimes we just need a break.”
“We just need a minute to regroup,” she continued. “You know, we haven’t had a break for fourteen years. We’ve gone in filming a season, then a spin-off, and I think there’s no other way to say it other than, we just live such big lives. And we have kids now. And they need us. There’s so much going on that, even just for a minute we need a break.”
