When Will ‘The L Word: Generation Q’ Return? Season 3 Is Coming Up
Ever since the bombshell finale of The L Word: Generation Q Season 2, fans have been waiting in anticipation for new episodes of the hit Showtime series. Spun off from the 2004 show The L Word, Generation Q features a blend of original and new characters for an exploration of relationships in all forms. Packed with romance, drama, and juicy story turns, the series has successfully won over new and old fans alike.
The L Word: Generation Q will return for another season at Showtime, the network announced in February. But when will it air exactly?
‘The L Word: Generation Q’ Season 3 will air in 2022
Showtime announced that it had renewed The L Word: Generation Q in February. The news came almost five months after the conclusion of the second season and much speculation over the fate of the show.
Season 3, according to a press release shared with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, will see the return of Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey, Katherine Moennig, Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Sepideh Moafi, and Jordan Hull.
It’ll be “executive produced by showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan, along with series creator Ilene Chaiken, Kristen Campo, Allyce Ozarski, Melody Derloshon, and original series stars Beals, Moennig, and Hailey.”
While the exact release date for The L Word: Generation Q Season 3 is unclear, the statement confirmed the show would return in 2022.
What happened in ‘The L Word: Generation Q’ Season 2
The latest season ended with all of the characters at a fork in the road in either their personal or professional lives. Bette Porter (Beals) found herself in a love triangle with Tina Kennard (Laurel Holloman) and Pippa Pascal (Vanessa Williams); Alice Pieszecki (Hailey) learned Tom Maultsby (Donald Faison) was likely planning to propose; and Shane McCutcheon (Moennig) appeared to separate from Tess Van De Berg (Jamie Clayton).
Meanwhile, Dani Núñez (Mandi) got arrested after failing to show up for a mandatory court appearance; Sophie Suarez’s (Zayas) relationship with Sarah Finley (Toboni) stalled as a result of Finley’s drinking; and Micah Lee (Sheng) was still figuring things out with Maribel Suarez (Jillian Mercado).
“What results of all these complex affairs of life and love will be revealed in season 3,” the press release states.
