Butterworth talks about filming season 4
Butterworth is transformed into her character Lady Aelswith and goes over her lines for the evening. She talks about long days filming and how the cast and crew fill their downtime.
“Welcome to my trailer. Here on set we like to be kind of silly because some days it’s kind of a long wait depending on when you’re in the scenes and sometimes we have to get up at like 3, 4 in the morning in order to get to set,” Butterworth explained. “Sometimes it can be a pretty long day, so obviously we like to fill that with lots of jokes, lots of silliness, lots of made-up handshakes, which I must say I am the queen of, and lots of cool games.” Viewers get to see a variety of behind-the-scenes silliness going on as Butterworth talks.
Butterworth takes part in a night shoot
Viewers also get to see Butterworth taking part in filming a night shoot. She explains that sometimes they start filming during the day and go all night to get the perfect shot. These are her favorite nights because, “there’s something magical on set,” Butterworth says.
She hilariously pulls out her phone and films some riders on horseback going by in-between her own lines. When it’s Butterworth’s turn, she leads the camera to where she will film her scenes for the evening. Viewers only got to see one scene of Butterworth and she wasn’t saying anything either, just filming a small scene where she walks by.
Fans can’t wait to see season 4 of The Last Kingdom which will premiere this month. There will be more of Lady Aelswith to come.
