‘The Last Kingdom’: Get an Official Look at Osferth in Season 5
The popular series The Last Kingdom has yet to release its fifth and final season to the dismay of fans. However, the official social media accounts for the series have been sharing first and official looks at some of the characters. The latest character to be shared is Osferth.
Osferth in ‘The Last Kingdom’
Osferth is the natural son of King Alfred the Great (David Dawson). His father had relations out of wedlock, and his mother is Leofric’s (Adrian Bower) sister and a servant. He was a novice monk in the church, but Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon), the main character, takes him into his service. They’ve been close ever since, and Osferth is an important member of Uhtred’s gang of warriors and friends. His sword has come in handy on more than one occasion, and he’s been at Uhtred’s side for years. Fans also affectionately know him as Baby Monk.

On September 6, 2021, the official social media accounts for the series shared a first look at Osferth ahead of the new season. The image doesn’t show much of the surroundings, as it’s a close-up shot of Osferth’s face at an angle. He looks off amidst a dark background with short hair. He has on what looks like his usual garments with the name of the series in the upper left corner. At the bottom of the post is a quote from Osferth.
“’Do not attack whilst he is with.’ – Osferth,” it reads.
The post is captioned on Instagram: “Always plan your attack… #thelastkingdom #tlk5.”
That isn’t the only official first look fans have received. Fans even saw Uhtred ahead of the new season as well.
Uhtred in season 5
On June 16, fans received a glimpse of Uhtred in season 5 via the social media accounts. The name of the show is in the upper right corner of the photo. Uhtred can be seen in the middle with his sword on his back as usual. He is looking serious as he looks off. His hair is short and shaved on the sides and longer on the top, and it’s up and back out of his face. It looks like he has a braid in it as well, and his hair seems a lot longer than the last time we saw him in season 4. He also wears a shirt with warrior attire on.
At the bottom a quote from Uhtred can be seen. “’If I die, I will haunt you to the end of your days…’ – Uhtred,” it says. It’s unclear exactly where he is based on the image though.
The post is captioned on Instagram: “It’s time to look ahead… The journey continues but who will join the quest and who will fall? #thelastkingdom #TLK5.”
It’s such a treat to see these posts of characters’ looks ahead of the final season of The Last Kingdom. We’ll have to see what’s shared next before season 5 premieres.
