The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild voice actors gave Princess Zelda, Impa, Gorons, Zora, Gerudo, and Rito full speaking lines for the first time in the Nintendo series. While games like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker featured a few spoken phrases, Breath of the Wild English VA Patricia Summersett provided the most dialogue for a Zelda game ever. However, it didn’t exempt her from some hilarious fan encounters.

‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ English VA Patricia Summersett carries ‘Majora’s Mask’ merch with her everywhere

On March 4, 2022, the five-year anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild release date on Nintendo Switch and Wii U, the English voice actors for Princess Zelda (Summersett), Impa (Andi Gibson), Zora Sidon (Jamie Mortellaro), King Rhoam (Bill Rogers), and Gorons Daruk and Yunobo (Joe Hernandez) reunited for a video call Q&A through Zelda Universe.

While people might not recognize voice actors as often as live-action stars, fans have connected with Summersett because she carries The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask phone case with her. It features Majora’s Mask that Skull Kid stole from the Happy Mask Salesman.

“I went to Hawaii a couple weeks ago, which was like the first time I traveled in two years. My parents were over there, and I have a Majora’s Mask phone case,” Summersett said. “I’m really careful about looking at my notifications, I try to stay away from looking at too many, and so this was face-up on a little table.”

Even though she voices one of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild characters, her Majora’s Mask phone case drew some attention to her and her parents.

A waiter started geeking out over ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ English VA Patricia Summersett

One Legend of Zelda fan worked at the restaurant and caught a glimpse of the Majora’s Mask phone case. He stopped to ask the Breath of the Wild Princess Zelda English VA about it, even though he did not recognize her.

“I was just with my parents in a restaurant,” Summersett continued. “And somebody walked by, and they stopped and then they came back, and they were like ‘excuse me, do you love Zelda, because I’m such a fan of the series, and I saw your phone case.’”

Summersett hesitated because she usually keeps her role as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild princess of Hyrule on the down-low.

“I thought, ‘Just do it, just be that person this time.’ I often just don’t say that,” she said. “And I was like, ‘Actually, I voice her.’ And he kind of melted down a little bit. Then, he came back, and he was like, ‘Can I get a picture with you?’ And I said ‘Yes, yes, of course, you can!’”

The Nintendo fan marked just one moment that stood out to the Hyrule princess VA

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild English VA Patricia Summersett enjoyed the moment and talked about how rare her parents saw something like that.

“It was a lovely, sweet moment,” she said. “And in front of my parents who don’t see that kind of thing very often.”

While she usually keeps it to herself, she feels like she made the right call telling the Nintendo fan.
