‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’: Is the Twilight Bow the Best Bow in BOTW?
One of the most important items in Link’s arsenal comes in the form of his bow and arrows. However, players can choose from dozens of bows in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Many fans claim that the BOTW Twilight Bow is the best in Breath of the Wild. It certainly seems powerful based on its stats, but obtaining it requires multiple steps.
Is the Twilight Bow the best bow in BOTW?
While the first bow players likely obtain comes from Bokoblins on the Great Plateau, Link can secure more powerful weapons in Hyrule. And the BOTW Twilight Bow marks an incredibly potent tool.
“The bow has a specified attack power of 30 as well as having a durability score of 100,” The Gamer reports. “It has a range reaching up to 8000. And when compared to the original Bow of Lights’ range of 500, one can easily see how truly impressive such things are.”
While the bow has some incredible stats even compared to story-driven endgame weapons, it is not indestructible like the Master Sword, for example. A strong bow needs to have more to it. And it certainly delivers.
“The Twilight Bow comes with unlimited Light ammo and is truly one of (if not the) best bow in the game,” The Gamer continues.
High stats and unlimited ammo make the BOTW Twilight Bow well worth the tasks to obtain it.
How to obtain the Twilight Bow in BOTW
Breath of the Wild players have a chance at randomly spawning in the BOTW Twilight Bow by using the Amiibo Rune and the Super Smash Bros. Amiibo of Princess Zelda. This version of Zelda is modeled after her appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
However, Nintendo did not want players storming the game right away with such a powerful weapon.
Players must completely free one of the Divine Beasts (Vah Ruta, Vah Medoh, Vah Naboris, or Vah Rudania) before it even has a chance at spawning.
Even after all the requirements are fulfilled to obtain the best bow, a task still lies ahead. Fans have calculated that Breath of the Wild only gives players a 2% chance of spawning the BOTW Twilight Bow. Such low odds can cause some headaches trying to obtain it, though.
Unfortunately, the only way to find the Twilight Princess bow is to then keep sifting through chests. However, both the power and the story behind the item provide plenty of incentive.
The weapon is a callback to Princess Zelda’s weapon in ‘The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess’
While Princess Zelda rarely uses combat herself in The Legend of Zelda series, several iterations have shown a prowess for the bow and arrow. With a bow, Tetra from Wind Waker helped Link in the final fight against Ganondorf. And Zelda helped battle the same evil in Twilight Princess.
The Twilight Bow found in BOTW has its origin in this latter Zelda. Originally, it had the name ‘the Bow of Light.’
It has many similarities in design and abilities. They both fire light arrows, one of the most powerful weapons in the entire Legend of Zelda series.
The inclusion in Breath of the Wild makes the BOTW version of the Twilight Bow one of the best bows in the entire game.
