Scarlet Witch has been a vital part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since first appearing as a misguided adversary in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Her character has gone from fighting against to fighting alongside the Avengers; she even came to boast quite the romantic arc with Vision (who died in Infinity War). Yet, what’s the plan for Wanda Maximoff moving forward? What’s going to happen in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? And, will the character stick around following the second Strange installment?

‘WandaVision’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’

Reports indicate that WandaVision will loosely follow the House of M comics, with some exceptions to account for the already-cemented discrepancies between the source material and the MCU. In the upcoming Disney+ show, Wanda’s broken heart and fractured mental state will lead her to will Vision back to life — along with a couple of kids who would have made for the perfect loving family.

WandaVision will be both a high-octane, cinematic-level production and an I Love Lucy-esque sitcom that’s sure to throw Marvel film enthusiasts for a loop — a positive one hopefully. If Wanda fractures reality, it’s likely that Doctor Strange will enter to mend her destruction and handle the cracks in the multiverse that she causes. Such a series of events will presumably (according to multiple reports) segue directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

Will Wanda come to accept her life as is? Can she heal — mentally and emotionally – and accept a world without all the loved ones she has lost? Will she return to helping instead of hindering the Avengers’ missions? Can she move on without her twin brother and potential life partner? If so, she could come to stand by Strange’s side as he comes to form a very pivotal academy.

Will Wanda Maximoff becomes a professor at the Strange Academy?

Some reports suggest that Marvel Studios may take a page from the Harry Potter books, and create the Strange Academy. The Disney+ series or potential cinematic venture would follow a recent graphic novel about the institution spearheaded by the Sorcerer Supreme himself.

As for the Strange Academy, it’s a place where young sorcerers must relearn the ways of magic after it returns to the Marvel world in a warped form (which could play out as a result of Scarlet Witch’s actions in the MCU). In the series by Humberto Ramos with illustrations by Scotty Young, Scarlet Witch is one of the many professors Doctor Strange employs to sculpt the young minds.

After fighting battles and taking on intergalactic threats — all while losing those who matter most to her — the Strange Academy could provide Scarlet Witch with a new purpose. She may come to retain an importance beyond combat — an importance in mentoring those who will come to defend earth, as well as many other planets across galaxies far and wide. From a reality warper to a professor: such may be Wanda’s journey.
