‘The Mandalorian’ Fans Wouldn’t Be Mad if the Season 2 Trailer Was Just Baby Yoda
The Star Wars franchise is one of the most successful and popular franchises in the world, and despite a few misses, the franchise always gets a few hits in, too.
That’s the story with The Mandalorian, the hit Star Wars show on Disney+ that fans simply can’t get enough of. The Mandalorian has something for everyone, but the one thing that everyone can agree on is just how cute and awesome Baby Yoda is.
Disney is no stranger to making cute characters, but Baby Yoda has become a phenomenon in his own right. In fact, fans love Baby Yoda so much that they wouldn’t mind if the trailer for Season 2 was just footage of him being cute and adorable.
What ‘The Mandalorian’ is about
The story of The Mandalorian is a simple, but effective one. Like most Star Wars stories, there are the good guys and then there are the bad guys. However, the main character, who’s usually called Mando, is a bounty hunter, and as a result, he, unlike most good guys, isn’t afraid of killing people.
Mando kills a lot of people to collect their bounties, and that’s just how he makes his living. As a result, he’s not really the good guy at first.
That all changes when he gets a job that involves putting Baby Yoda in danger, who’s actually called The Child. Baby Yoda is just so adorable that Mando can’t bring himself to hurt him, and as a result, he runs off with him to try keeping him safe.
More and more bad guys show up to try to kill Baby Yoda, but of course, Mando and his friends won’t let that happen.
That’s basically the premise of the show, and fans are excited to see what’s going to happen next.
Season 2 premieres on October 30, 2020
Like fans on Reddit said, Disney fortunately had the foresight to start working on season two before COVID-19 hit. As a result, the second season will be available on Disney+ starting on October 30.
That said, despite the premiere being so close, Disney hasn’t dropped the trailer yet.
Fans speculated that Disney may be having a hard time cutting a trailer for season two since it would be full of spoilers. Disney has done a good job at not spoiling things with its trailers, as the early Avengers: Endgame trailers showed.
This could be a potential explanation for why Disney hasn’t released a trailer for the second season of The Mandalorian just yet.
However, other fans speculated that Disney is relying on the fans to be hyped for the show. The show, and Baby Yoda, were instant hits, so that is a possible explanation too.
That said, this is unlikely, since releasing a trailer is something that every major studio does.
Fans wouldn’t be mad if the trailer was just Baby Yoda
With that being said, one fan suggested that Disney could just release a trailer that features Baby Yoda being cute for two minutes. After all, Baby Yoda being cute is an actually important part of the story, so it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to just show Baby Yoda being cute for the entire trailer. As one fan said, “Honestly I wouldn’t even be mad.”
This crazy idea of just using Baby Yoda for the entire trailer has other merits, too. Star Wars fans hate spoilers as much as MCU fans do, and by featuring just Baby Yoda in the trailers, Disney can avoid spoiling anything.
On top of that, since Baby Yoda became famous in his own right, a trailer featuring only Baby Yoda would garner the attention of people who aren’t Star Wars fans.
However, Disney will more than likely release a regular trailer soon.
