‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Will Feature Milo Ventimiglia, Amy Sherman-Palladino Says It’s Just a Matter of When
Get ready to see Milo Ventimiglia on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Amy Sherman-Palladino, who created the award-winning Amazon original series with her husband, Dan Palladino, says the This Is Us star will appear on the show.

Fast-talking and pop culture references seem all too familiar on Maisel? They should. They’re a hallmark of Sherman-Palladino’s work. She uses them not only on Maisel but in another one of her famous shows, Gilmore Girls.
On the set of the popular series is where Ventimiglia first worked with Palladino and Sherman-Palladino.
Gilmore Girls fans know Ventimiglia as Jess Mariano. The nephew of Luke Danes (Scott Patterson), Jess is Stars Hollow’s resident bad boy.
He and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) start dating after Rory’s public split from Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki) at the town’s dance marathon.
Ventimiglia joined the cast in the show’s second season and almost got his own Gilmore Girls spinoff series.
Amy Sherman-Palladino says a reunion ‘will definitely happen’
Because of his role on This Is Us as the near-perfect father Jack Pearson, Ventimiglia’s schedule is tricky. The show’s time jumps further complicate the situation.
The actor has to have certain facial hair depending on the show’s time period (This Is Us features scenes from various decades). That means he can’t just alter his appearance to suit Maisel’s 1950s look.
But fret not because Sherman-Palladino’s going to have Ventimiglia on Maisel. During a 2018 Variety interview with Palladino and Ventimiglia, the Gilmore Girls creator made it clear a reunion’s happening at some point.
“Don’t think it has not been discussed!” Sherman-Palladino said of a reunion with Ventimiglia on Maisel.
She continued, saying she’s not going to give the actor just any role.
“It’s got to be the right part,” Sherman-Palladino said. “It can’t be just a cameo. It’s got to have some meat to it.”
Beyond that, there’s Ventimiglia’s appearance to consider.
“And it’s also got to be a time when he can shave and cut his hair into a 1950s-period look,” Sherman-Palladino said.
Despite the hurdles, Sherman-Palladino says “the reuniting will definitely happen.”

Sherman-Palladino already expressed how enthusiastic she is about reuniting with Ventimiglia on Maisel. The feeling is mutual.
In the same interview, Ventimiglia said he’s not picky about a job on Maisel. He’ll do almost anything to simply be around his former co-workers.
“I liked Dan and Amy when I first met them, and I was a fan,” Ventimiglia said. “Now I love them, even to the point where I’m like, ‘Hey guys, do you need somebody to sweep the floors on Maisel? I’m in. You need someone to make sandwiches? I can do that, too.’ I just want to hang out with you guys.”
Maisel has yet to feature Ventimiglia in its first three seasons. The premiere of Maisel Season 4 has no premiere date yet. And there’s been no talk of an appearance by Ventimiglia. Fans will just have to look out for Ventimiglia in future episodes of Maisel.
