The past year has not been normal for anyone, with many changes and challenges due to the coronavirus (COVID-19)The Masked Singer unexpectedly decided to make a change of their own last season.

Producers revised the format of the popular competitive singing series by implementing a new character. A well-dressed rooster named Cluedle-Doo quickly became a fan favorite.

The wacky addition was introduced in the season 5 episode, “Super 8 – The Plot Chickens!” His role throughout the season was to provide valuable clues to the panelists about the identity of the celebrity contestants.

The wacky rooster would periodically interrupt the broadcast to offer hints, teasing the panelists and antagonizing the host. From the comforts of his secret studio, Cluedle-Doo would continuously challenge the audience to discover his identity.

Panelist Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg had to be picked up off the floor after learning that the Cluedle-Doo rooster was her husband, Donnie Wahlberg.

Will Cluedle-Doo return next season?

The Blast explained the jigsaw clue was referring to Wahlberg’s role in the Saw franchise. The kitchen clue was for his connection to his family’s restaurant chain, Wahlburgers. Fans familiar with the New Kids on the Block founder would know he starred in the film Bullet with Rourke.

Fox has not revealed if the 51-year-old Blue Bloods star will be returning to The Masked Singer for season 6, but his wife would certainly not be opposed.

On a Reddit thread, while forum users liked the idea of Cluedle-Doo, many thought the character wasn’t a necessary element to the continuance of the show’s success. They said they wouldn’t mind having him around occasionally. Some suggested he be interjected sporadically throughout the new season, appearing with maybe a new costume or other minor adjustments to his persona.
