The Masked Singer judge Ken Jeong walked off stage when Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani was unmasked as the Jack in the Box.

Although nearly all of the judges appeared to be shocked to see Giuliani, Jeong’s nonverbal said it all. Giuliani stood on stage, breathless after a performance. Jeong is heard telling the panel, “I’m done” before walking off stage. Giuliani is more than just a controversial figure. He was suspended from practicing law after making false statements about the 2020 election. And he was subpoenaed to testify about the January 6 insurrection.

Judge Nicole Scherzinger didn’t seem to recognize Giuliani even after he removed his mask. “Is that Robert Duvall?” she asked Jeong, who looked completely unamused (via ET). “No, that’s not Robert Duvall,” he replied looking annoyed.

“This is definitely something I never would have guessed,” judge Rogin Thicke remarked while Jeong was still on-stage looking disappointed (via People). After making the remark, Thicke also departed the stage behind Jeong. People reported that Thicke mainly left the stage to check on Jeong and it wasn’t necessarily in protest.

Host Nick Cannon wondered why Giuliani made the appearance. “I guess the main reason is, I just had a granddaughter, Grace, and I want her to know that you should try everything, even things that are completely unlike you and unlikely,” Giuliani said. “And I couldn’t think of anything more unlike me and unlikely than this. And I enjoy the show. I have for years. And it just seemed like it’d be fun. I don’t get to have a lot of fun.”

As an unmasked Giuliani continued to sing “Bad to the Bone” Jeong is seen quietly leaving the stage as Jenny McCarthy and Scherzinger danced alone behind the judge’s table.

Ken felt ‘disrespected’ by Rudy Giuliani’s appearance

Jeong made a nonverbal statement about Giuliani’s upcoming appearance on social media, posting about every other Masked Singer but Giuliani. He’s also made it clear how he feels about Trump. In November 2020 he tweeted in response to a (now suspended) Trump tweet: “You are not a true American. You are neither a Republican or Democrat. You are the worst.”

A source told People, “Ken felt disrespected and was livid to see Rudy was under the mask which is why he walked off. There’s no way he could hide his feelings.”

“Ken has been incredibly vocal about how the previous administration handled many things but especially COVID-19 and has found a lot of what they’ve said not only wrong but dangerous. To get someone who helped to spread misinformation and call into question the accuracy of our election and democracy to appear on his show was going to set him off.”

Rudy Giuliani isn’t the first controversial ‘Masked Singer’

Giuliani isn’t the first controversial political figure to appear on The Masked Singer. CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski tweeted about how the show featured former Alaska politician Sarah Palin on the show in 2020.
