‘The Masked Singer’ Revealed the Beach Ball as Honey Boo Boo and Mama June
The Masked Singer has had some outstanding performances so far this season. From Grammy-award-winning singers to NBA players, the talent in season 6 has been unmatched. Tonight the Beach Ball got the lowest amount of votes and was unmasked. First, let’s take a look at who’s been revealed so far and who was ultimately behind the mask of the Beach Ball.
Who has been revealed so far on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 6?
Fans have seen several characters revealed so far on The Masked Singer this season. During the series’ two-night premiere, fans saw performances from the Octopus, Mother Nature, the Pufferfish, the Skunk, and the Bull. The Octopus was the first character to be voted off the show, and audiences learned that it was Los Angeles Laker Dwight Howard behind the mask. He told audiences that his mom loved the show, which is what prompted him to appear as a performer.
Mother Nature was the next performer to remove their mask, and it was Independence Day and Kill Bill actor Vivica A. Fox. Fox told the judges she liked to challenge herself, and performing on The Masked Singer was something she had never done before.
Next up was the Pufferfish, who fans learned was Grammy winner Toni Braxton. The songstress admitted she had experienced some nervousness over the past year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. She credited the show with helping her get past that. Hip hop star Tyga was the celebrity hiding behind the Dalmatian mask. On Oct. 6, the Baby was introduced as the Wild Card contestant and revealed to be none other than Larry the Cable Guy.
The next two characters to go were the Cupcake and the Hamster. It seemed like fans had a pretty good idea the Hamster was SNL alum Rob Schneider, and they were right. The Cupcake was revealed to be Ruth Pointer from the group, The Pointer Sisters.
The Beach Ball was Honey Boo Boo and Mama June
If there was one character that was throwing everyone off, it was the Beach Ball. We had heard rumors of there being two people inside the costume, but nothing was confirmed. The judges’ guesses ranged from a Kardashian duo to Elle and Dakota Fanning. However, no one thought it could be reality TV stars Alana from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and June “Mama June” Shannon.
Some of the clues included Alana, who was still behind the mask at the time, saying it was only fitting for her to join the show as a Wild Card because her life “has been kind of wild.” The former child beauty pageant star continued, “I was thrown into the game at a very early age, and in the spotlight for a very long time. I had famous recipes, and I even had a hit single that I recorded in just one take.”
